    Hi,

I have a boardman hybrid bike and the derailleur hanger snapped off. I thought it would be an easy fix but it seems Halfords (where I bought it) need to order the part in which they said can take over 4 weeks!

If I go to order the part myself it seems like a minefield of microscopically different hangers..

Will any repair shop be able to do this for me without that kind of delay? Really need my bike!!

    Thanks

Same issue myself and used these yesterday:

    Hanger was shipped this morning

Also used derailleurhanger.com before but postage has increased a lot.

Ordered from Elanus a few weeks ago, it took 3 weeks to arrive, despite shipping notification a few days after ordering. You might google and discover the boardman hanger is the same fit as other bikes, my PlanetX hanger from Elanus arrived in a corratec branded bag.

Same prob with a Genesis cda bike.
After paying over the odds for replacement to lbs, discovered this.

Perhaps try a few English forums

Where are you based? I'd try Bee Cycles, who have a large selection in stock and probably have what you need.

I second this, if you’re Dublin based. No affiliation, just a happy customer. I bought a cassette here a few months back and mentioned just as chit chat that he was a bit more expensive than buying online, but I’d rather give my money to a small local place. He immediately price matched it, even though I was going to buy from him anyway.

I'm not expecting mine to arrive much quicker then 2 weeks anyway as I chose the cheapest shipping method. They do call it out on the website and advice using a courier for about 10 euro extra.

Fingers crossed it arrives earlier but have another bike so no panic.

Unfortunately mine seems unique but good call on checking if it's shared on other brands, might find one quicker that way.

Your LBS should have one lying around.

They probably have a frame with no forks ready to be thrown out which has a perfectly good hanger.

Once I actually (dont know how) twisted the hanger, got a new one from LBS.

I bought the very same bike from Halfords and mine snapped too. I tried loads of places for a replacement. I ordered the piece through Halfords and got the lads in Cycle zone, Blanch Village, to put it on.

Mine arrived on Friday so 10 days delivery, not too bad given the current climate. Also worth noting that they did advise paying for express postage so fair play to them.

My advice - anyone who has a unique derailleur hanger, buy a spare!
