Hi - wonder if you can recommend which of your 43 inch televisions to go for. For viewing movies & sport via Virgin box, Saoirview (if possible), Chromecast, Netflix and other streaming services.

Is there any difference between the overall quality of pic between Hisense, Philips, LG? These are the ones I was looking at: https://www.richersounds.ie/prodcompare.aspx?pid1=204868&pid2=204810&pid3=204696

I have a good surround sound system (thanks to RS!), so it's only the pic quality & functionality (we're an Android/Google house) I am interested in, not sound.

Does freesat hd mean Saorview without a set-top box?

Edit - the Samsung seems to get very good reviews: https://www.richersounds.ie/p-204595-samsung-ue43tu8500-43-inch-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-led-tv-with-apple-tv-app-freesat-hd.aspx
    Hi BoardsMember.

    Thanks for thepost.

Freesat is free to air satellite and requires a satellite dish to be connected to receive it.
Saorivew come in via the standard aerial connection and is available on all the televisions that we stock.

The top sellers would currently be LG and Samsung followed by Sony and Philips.

Each manufacturer make TV for different spec depending on your price point.

Out of the LG, Philips and Hisense mentioned above I would be for either the LG or the Philips. Both these sets produce great images and sell very well.

The Samsung 43TU8500 is a step up in picture quality in my opinion but has currently sold out. We are awaiting an ETA for more arriving.

LG and Samsung tend to have the better smart hubs unless you go for one of the high end Sony's or Philips which use an Android operating systems.

    Sony 43XH8196 priced at £599

For the Philips you would be up to a 50" with the 50PUS8555 priced at £549

    Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks Kenny for the great info.

    I am "confined" to 43 inches....her indoors!

I may wait for the Samsung, the Sony is out of budget, particularly when my LG is working fine, apart from a very insensitive remote control (always been like that).

    No problem BoardsMember :)

I keep my eye out for the Samsung arriving back in and can drop you a post.

In the mean time if you have any questions please let me know.
