Harsh but as they directly contradicted the restrictions and the information they read out every day in the case of Burley then that's what happens if you work for SKY - they do tend to act it must be said. Sacked off two sexist Sids on Sky Sports years ago and they were right to do so.

A soccer commentator on a BBC local radio station was suspended recently for describing a scuffle during a match as “handbags”.

I assume that they are still being paid? Bar the damage to their egos, a few months off is hardly much of a punishment.

“The man who lies to himself can be more easily offended than anyone else. You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

We can't have people being accountable for their actions unless they're publicans trying to earn a living. The bubble wrap doesn't extend far outside Montrose.

You think? The public opprobrium, embarrassment, and importantly the knowledge that your bosses saw fit to do this at all will all weigh on them I'd say.

6 or 3 months not covering brexit and covid, the biggest stories in a generation, I think that would harm anyone's career.

Kay Burley might not come back she would suit Andrew Neils opinion news channel.

compare and contrast Kay Burley 6 months off air and 2 others 3 months off air https://news.sky.com/story/kay-burley-agrees-to-be-off-air-for-six-months-after-covid-19-breach-12157105

Are we still waiting for RTE management to decide on appropriate action?

No it's over and nothing to see here

See also: a Chinese woman racially abused by Finglas scumbags and then pushed into a river. Remember her?

It could be because it's hard enough to understand a person next you speak while wearing one, so listening to a newsreader with one between the lips and the mic is I dunno......completely ****ing stupid?

Seriously like. Wear a mask on the next phone call you make and see how audible you are.
