Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Micheál: "the days will start to lengthen in January."

    Intrepid, Dr. Martin.

Means the square root of f-all right now.

Just bizzare, if their recommending masks on busy streets, does that not in itself confirm there's a problem.

Any message for the traditional publicans whose livelihoods you've destroyed Micheál? Radio silence.

Take your Fantastic Mr. Fox quote and cram it.

On busy streets is what he said.... makes perfect sense.

Will any reporter ask this question seriously
“How many cases can be attributed by person to person transmission outside on a street”
If there’s no cases to back up this outdoors mask wearing then why would it be needed.

If its only advice (but conveniently muddied by the legal requirements in shops) then they can fook off personally

People are never happy no matter what you do. Look it's advice. If your in a crowded area wear a mask and in some way reduce the risk of spreading the virus. The amount of selfishness since this virus arrived is incredible.

Not wearing masks except indoors, not staying in county past Dec 1st. They can go and ****.

Don't think that's entirely fair he quit after 9 months saying he had no influence or input...he could have hung on if he wanted more money.
He is so downbeat though on this topic it is depressing.
Ireland numbers wise is doing extremely well.

The selfishness is expecting 5 million people to completely restrict their lives, threaten or take away their jobs, and frighten them into submission through one-sided reporting, skewed metrics and threats of fines or jail time.

All to protect the small percentage of people who are ACTUALLY at any risk from this virus

    Why not?

It's totally unnecessary to be advising outdoor mask wearing 9 months after the pandemic first began. It's questionable how effective masks are in the first place, when the lockdown ends next week, the cases will rise again, with or without mask wearing by the public.

They never recommended mask usage until the summer. If masks are so important I can never understand why they didn't stop the surging cases in October. Considering they were mandatory in all work places and retail units.

He thought he'd be the same "big deal" he sees himself as in RTE and doors and opportunities would be landing on him left, right, and centre.

Even the likes of Haughey and Enda had to start at the bottom

What have they to say about the RTE rrport that second wave is 90% less fatal than first wave ????

McConkey should be immediately put on PUP and have it backdated to March. That would soften his cough.

RTE full on misery porn at the moment. Terrible stuff altogether. No proper questions being asked at all, like what is the justification for level 3 right now?
