Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I will not be wearing a mask in outdoor areas. Crowded or not crowded.

People are never happy no matter what you do. Look it's advice. If your in a crowded area wear a mask and in some way reduce the risk of spreading the virus. The amount of selfishness since this virus arrived is incredible.

Not wearing masks except indoors, not staying in county past Dec 1st. They can go and ****.

Don't think that's entirely fair he quit after 9 months saying he had no influence or input...he could have hung on if he wanted more money.
He is so downbeat though on this topic it is depressing.
Ireland numbers wise is doing extremely well.

The selfishness is expecting 5 million people to completely restrict their lives, threaten or take away their jobs, and frighten them into submission through one-sided reporting, skewed metrics and threats of fines or jail time.

All to protect the small percentage of people who are ACTUALLY at any risk from this virus

On busy streets is what he said.... makes perfect sense.
Other countries enforce mask wearing outside at all times (e.g. spain)

Oh yeah, perfect sense alright, seeing as how masks have been so good at keeping numbers down. Oh, wait, they haven't.

    Why not?

It's totally unnecessary to be advising outdoor mask wearing 9 months after the pandemic first began. It's questionable how effective masks are in the first place, when the lockdown ends next week, the cases will rise again, with or without mask wearing by the public.

They never recommended mask usage until the summer. If masks are so important I can never understand why they didn't stop the surging cases in October. Considering they were mandatory in all work places and retail units.

He thought he'd be the same "big deal" he sees himself as in RTE and doors and opportunities would be landing on him left, right, and centre.

Even the likes of Haughey and Enda had to start at the bottom

The at risk are the old and vulnerable. Just because you might not give a **** about them lots of people do. A life is more important than money.

McConkey should be immediately put on PUP and have it backdated to March. That would soften his cough.

RTE full on misery porn at the moment. Terrible stuff altogether. No proper questions being asked at all, like what is the justification for level 3 right now?

Yes and it’s up to the old and vulnerable to protect themselves, or their family members to take precautions. The rest of us can’t be in perpetual lockdown because your granny might catch covid - as cruel as that sounds that’s the reality of it. Enough is enough.

There is plenty of evidence they are effective.
Outdoor mask wearing recommended if crowded only....key detail.
Like I said already other countries are enforcing mask wearing at all times when outside (e.g spain) I have a friend in new york and that has been the case for months.

That's a nice idea but in the real world, no money (or jobs or functioning economy) means no way to look after those people you're so concerned about

Don't even get us started on misery :pac::pac: are you for real?

Coming from the same group of lockdown fanatical people who have been endlessly hysterical and miserable since March.

People like Holohan and George Lee constantly playing down the good vaccine news!

They are only one tool....they also we're not being well enforced in my experience in a lot of shops, it has improved over recent weeks

Compare where we are to the rest of europe, we have done fairly well so far.

They can put all the added guidelines and dates for this the other and tell us X amount can congregate from this date until that date, but the reality of it is December is going to be a free for all. They can just forget about it now until January because people are just going to let rip from the 1st and after the year we’ve had I don’t blame them

George Lee is predicting lots of death in January

So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was George, and Sam followed with him
