homeopathy relies entirely on the placebo effect. there is no scientific basis for any of it.

If it works for me? Why does it worry you?

Do you think people should be forced to accept the vaccine?

Well the doctor was tinkering with it for 6 months and hadnt a clue but the homeopath knew. How you explain the show over the left lung going ? I was up all night hocking up phlegm for a few months. Then the phlegm clears up in a week and back to school in three more days and putting on weight?

Correlation does not equal causation. This is basic stuff.

Well it wasnt anything the doctor did I guarantee you that.

it doesn't worry me. What does worry me is somebody who claims to be studying science thinks it works.

Yep massive steroids that excited the gut. The cure was worse than the cause. That got dumped after a week. I checked with pharmacist and the steroids and antibiotics would have cost €70 a week. That would have been my life for 2 years.

The homeopath prescribed something else much much much much cheaper and it was gone in a week.

The homeopath gave you a sugar tablet... I imagine some form of a placebo effect may have occurred or some other environmental factor changed. I'm not the most believing of your story though which you often seem to adapt to suit what you're arguing. If my gp isn't sure of something, they tend to refer me onto a specialist. And I've had a fair few. I've even had some things that required months of investigation, never occurred through my gp.

You should be more worried about the quality of doctors we are leaving into the country where our irish doctors are going and doctors who dont know the difference between an elbow and ankle!

My GP isnt sure of anything. The GP prescribed something but it wasnt a sugar tablet, it was something else. He made no money on what he prescribed me. How about you save your self some money and time and get a proper homeopath/acupuncturist? I saw a specialist twice and I got a carry on as you were. The specialist couldnt explain why it went away. Guessing it was the placebo effect? right

You lack a basic understanding on placebos, which can have surprising results.

I wish my GP had them because what he prescribed didn't do squat.

You've no idea what the unregistered and unregulated person claiming to be a medical professional gave you, and despite having lots of books on the topic have never thought to investigate it... But whatever they gave you you are convinced fixed you despite you knowing nothing about it.

They saw you coming a mile off. Have you checked what any of these other miracle cures the snake oil salesman has sold you since claim to be?

I have a chronic illness, it wasn't "carry on" and you should probably not give random people you don't know on the internet advice. Particularly when you're pushing unscientific rubbish that could be dangerous for anyone with a serious illness..

It would be considered unethical to prescribe a placebo, thankfully. I feel like you're trying to wind people up at this stage.

Whatever your views on vaccines or the handling of the pandemic etc. it's clear to me that anyone availing of freedom passes or similar are akin to collaborators during the nazi regime. Your moral and political compass would have to be way off.

Absolutely. The mere idea of a society of freedom passes and health passports, with the green, orange and red lights, horrifys me. But that's the future we're facing, I fear. A number of health passports are being rolled out, England is set to introduce freedom passes, Ireland has mentioned vaccination passports etc.

I never said "carry on as you were" that was the specialists advice and she couldnt find the shadow on the lung. No-one is saying it was cured but I amnt complaining anymore about it. I asked her where it went she couldnt answer.

That doesn't mean the homeopath cured you, it means she didn't have an answer. It's great that you are healthy now but Christ do not rely on homeopathy if anything else happens to you. Seek proper medical advice.

Well I am looking forward to hearing an explanation from a qualified doctor on where a two inch shadow over my lung, I also saw the xray myself, it was there and it was there one year and gone by the next time I saw here. I never went back to see her again. I was convinced it was black mould that was causing it.

same day he he fixed my achy right knee with acupuncture. I have repeated the procedure myself with my own needles. ................ it worked.

how much do you think he charged me? I havent been back to see him with that same complaint since. As for the dopey GP I wonder how much kick back from the Pharma rep salesman?

€70*52*2 = 7280 ? and they made me sicker. plus would have bloated me out. Yeah the GP saw me coming alright. Now I just have him sign documents. Its a really sad case if you have no confidence in your GP.

This is from the link I provided earlier:

"There is no cure for sarcoidosis, but most people do very well with no treatment or only modest treatment. In some cases, sarcoidosis goes away on its own."

    https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/sarcoidosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20350358#:~:text=Advertisement&text=There%20is%20no%20cure%20for,and%20may%20cause%20organ%20damage.

But if you want to continue thinking the homeopath cured you that's your choice.

I agree. But I would argue that the way they count deaths in England continues to be a farce since anyone who dies within 28 days of testing positive for covid there is said to have died of covid regardless of how they actually died. That's why the number of covid deaths in England is inflated and inaccurate. That's the point I've been making about '1.5 million have died of covid'. There needs to be an asterisk attached which says "includes people in England who died within 28 days of testing positive for covid".

You’ve been shown the official UK death statistics up to week 50 this year and those show 70 k increase on the average for the past 5 years. You still ignore these and ****e on about how deaths have been labelled and defined.

Don't worry, it takes a while for him to accept he is wrong, but rest assured that won't deter him. He'll move on to something else shortly.

I really don't understand why you are quoting my post but if you have proof that a simple household product does a better job than steroids you should probably make that information public. Maybe you should even write a paper about it as part of your science degree. At least that would force you to do proper research for once.

Genuinely concerning to read up on people who are weary of vaccines but at the same time are talking up homeopathy as some miracle cure for their illness

You're right. It isn't factual and I corrected my mistake.

The current figure is more than 1.7 million.

A popular Aussie chef has just had his FB page pulled for being a complete woo merchant

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-55433217

It's never just Covid conspiracies, it's always the whole 9 yards:
Evans had shared a range of debunked theories about the severity of the virus, mask-wearing and vaccines, as well as incorrect claims about 5G networks.
Prior to the pandemic, several Australian health bodies had criticised Evans - known as "Paleo Pete" - for promoting pseudo-science about diets and cancer cures.

In 2017, the Australian Medical Association accused Evans of endangering lives with his false claims about the benefits of certain minerals and toxins in sunscreen.
In April, his company was fined by Australian regulators for selling a A$15,000 (£8,400; $11,300) light machine which he incorrectly claimed could cure the "Wuhan coronavirus".

Then in November, he lost several business sponsorships after he shared a meme on social media that featured a neo-Nazi symbol.

His post included a "black sun" - a symbol associated with Nazi Germany and used by the far-right including the Christchurch gunman. Following a backlash, he offered an apology to "anyone who misinterpreted" the post.

His cookbooks were pulled by major retailers after that post, and his publisher Pan Macmillan said it had ended his author contract.

Evans was also fired from the next Australian season of television show I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here.
