I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Simpsons has been awful for nigh on 20 seasons now, it has overstayed it's welcome.

Scooby on the other hand was rather fun, minus Scrappy of course

The Simpsons. Before it went to seed it was one of the sharpest and funniest not just cartoons, but TV shows ever. I can still remember scenes and gags from years ago.

Scooby Doo ; when I used to work a 9-5 job, Scooby Doo used to be on in the mornings while I was having my bowl of Coco Pops before heading off to the daily slog. Was the highlight of my day sometimes during that depressing existence before my heyday of working afternoons/nights which I much preferred.

Yeah, this.

The Simpsons does deserve stick for the crap which is now what - two-thirds of the series? But the first one-third still involves probably more episodes than Scooby Doo, and certainly much better ones.

well if I had a box set of Scooby doo i would probably get bored of it quite quickly, but the classic Simpsons I would happily watch all day long.

It's still possibly the most quotable show ever and when it was good it was much more a biting satire than I realized as a child

Tom & Jerry ; best cartoon left in the running, has generational appeal (used to watch it with my Grandad and he probably enjoyed it more than I did), and a Looney Tunes vs Tom & Jerry final would be most worthy.

Tom and Jerry are absolute icons.

Futurama pips it for me though. When The Simpsons was going down the crapper, Matt Groening had jumped ship to his new baby Futurama.
And Dr Zoidberg is one of the coolest characters ever

I've knocked one or two out to Layla over the years but not even she can help Futurama here.
