I knew this would be next. I fecking knew it.

Hmmmm. Yesterday went well so let's stick rather than twist. Boom, done.

No faffing about, straight it with an uneducated guess

Why are you doing this to us ?!!
Oh yeah , we volunteered didn't we :pac:

OK, yesterday I said I couldn't remember going to school with anyone called Mary but there were a few Josephs....and John Pauls to give away my age. Now what relevance that has to kids born almost four decades later I don't know but I don't think it would be as old-fashioned as Mary so should be more common....

after yesterday's misfire, I learned my lesson and will go for a low number.
I know a few Joes (which I will assume it could be short for Joseph) but not too many, so I would think that the number will be evn lower than Mary's.

Absolutely no way that there is as many Joseph's as Mary's

Definitely more popular than Mary! So I think yesterday's answer is more suited to today.

Has to be more than Mary right? Like you can go Joe, Joey, etc

Humm hum hum. Joe is still a quite popular I think. Maybe less than Tarquin and whatever...

It has to be more popular than Mary but I was way out yesterday.

Well there is surely bound to be more kids called Joseph than Mary? So doubling yesterday's answer...

I was way off yesterday but Kitty saved all of us so have to go much more realistic today. Joseph isn't very common anymore, and I'm taking that to not include Joe or Joey.

Right well this is gonna be the same as the other question, Marys = Josephs.

    10,000?? Only joking :D

Yeah have no clue here. I think there might only be one in our school at the moment and its a double barrelled first name...

no idea but less boys then girls born

My brain is mush today...I could even forget to enter later so am just going to double the correct answer from yesterday as I think Joseph will be twice as popular as Mary. Very scientific approach.. Actually, that doesn't seem high enough.

Did I bother to look up Joseph’s last night after the reveal? No of course not. Having said that boys names aren’t as varied as girls names and I still see Joes regularly coming through the school so I’d say it’s more popular than Mary. But what will the people of forum go for?

I feel like Joseph is still more popular than Mary but not by much!

I'd guess there are fewer Josephs than Marys

No idea, cant Math this one, so going with a approximation of c. x2 of Marys

Going to say three times as many josephs as was marys

Hey dude, surely there will be less Joeys than Marys and I hope the folk here realize that

Yesterday's answer obviously but do I go for yesterday's actual answer or these clowns answer??

I'd say Joseph is more popular as a name than Mary. Think of all those great men he'd be named after; Joe Biden, Joe Deane, Joe Stalin.... Since my Mary guess was too high compared to the real answer, I'll re-use it as it might be more applicable here.

I'm thinking it's probably similar to but lower than Mary. But as always, I'm worried about what others will say

I did think with yesterdays question that it wouldn't be a terrible idea to look up other Christmas names, but did I do it... nope...
Actually, I tried to find the answer for Mary after submitting and even google was working against me, and I just had to wait until you revealed it, so even if I had tried I couldn't...
Will I check out other Christmassy names today... not a chance... because again, I'm not even capable enough to manage such a task...
By the way, I think tomorrow's question should be "how many babies were named Bruce last year, after the lead actor in the greatest Christmas movie of all time, Die Hard?" - I won't look, because seriously I don't know how, and I really just want to see Heidi and some of the others lose their minds... :D
Oh yeah, today's answer, just gonna guess its about thrice as popular as Mary and round down a bit...

Based on nothing more than there have to be more Josephs and Joeys and Joes around the place than Marys these days.....but not that many more, 'cos it's still a fairly old-fashioned name.....

Sure I would consider Joseph to be an old man's name. I only know of one Joseph in work so I can't envisage it being much.

    Hi 2D,

I sent my answer to EN in advance yesterday, by agreement, as I was not sure at the time if I would have an opportunity to look at it today.... due to being in actual work and having to travel.

Hopefully, he sent it to you.

    Regards,
