Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Coughing & wheezing.... not from de near-death covid survivor but from de O'Caddle

Listening to Mourning Ireland and this clown appears to spoil my morning mood!

Haven't listened to de Joe Duffy Show in a while - turns out daily listening to an overpaid, obnoxious bollix (sorry mods) was causing stress and affecting my sleep. Suffered from poor sleep for a long time but it has improved significantly since I stopped listening to Mr Duffy.

I do miss de thread though. Happy Christmas.

Guaranteed constant pronunciations of death will keep one awake.

This actually makes me wish for Syl Fox and Doc Savage.

And I don’t say that lightly.

Anyway. The liveliners are the Best threads on boards, it is entertaining to the majority.
And what a year it has been. Loved reading it any day I can.
Keep up the wonderful, brilliant wurk callers!

"Have those countries not suffered enough?"

At least they don't have Liveline broadcasted there on national radio.

At this rate, Duffy's Xmas Eve radio show will have double/triple the music output than Tubridy's supposed Busker Music LLS special (4 tunes in 105 minutes)
So, fair play on that one!

"I don't want to bring your show down".

You should know at this stage that Duffy's liveline is already the lift at the basement floor.

This just goes to show how unfunny Brendan O’Carroll is (as if we didn’t know already) - telling gags to empty silence, no cackling pensioners behind him.

What a load of fun and frolicks

    I assume that's rhyming slang.

And on that note could I just send a special request out to Syl Fox who could not be there today. He was actually available to be at the show, he just wasn't allowed at the show because he spoke against the #metoo movement when he was falsely accused during the year.

The titans of Irish <Comedy> on now

It smashed through the basement floor ages ago and last we heard is still heading towards the Earth's core.

Methinks Trey would rather play the Playstation than watch Mrs. Brown’s Boys.

But don't you know that Joe's favourite actor is in fact Mr Sidney Poitier.

Or Sidney Potter as Joe would probably call him.

While it’s very nice they gave him a PS5, you’d think they could get it to him today and not “in de next few weeks”?

What variety of accents have we heard so far? I only heard Eddie Murphy and had to take a call

As I have said more than once, it’s not an Eddie Murphy impression so to speak, it’s a Donkey from Shrek impression. Eddie Murphy doesn’t talk like that everyday so to speak.

    Morgan Freeman and Chris Eubank.

Joe of course, had to introduce them as such, in case we didn’t recognise the impersonation. Always a bad sign (Eddie Large Syndrome).

Well the host and Brendan are doing Whacker and Auld Dub accents. And they’ve never had any complaints.

Eddie used to do a whitey impression as part of his stage show.

With the way things are going, if you can't blackface or dress as an Indian, then it is only a matter of time before impersonating somebody in a minority group will be considered "culturally inappropriate".

Yes but under #woke rules it’s ok for POC to do anything to white people so to to speak that were the shoe on the other foot so to speak would be deemed racist and dat. Dja follow me?

Joe managed to cut himself off there somehow. That's impressive.

Is doing ould dub accents not racist?
