I’m looking for something quite specific for an elderly man living alone.
A very simple, very clear tv remote control. I can find plenty available with up and down arrows for the channels, but he has a favourite channel that is high up in numbers (in the 600s or 800s), and he would have a lot of “scrolling” to do to get to it using just the arrows. Does any one know if remote control exists where you can program specific channels into each of the numbers on the handset? Much like speed dial on a telephone.

    He uses virgin media.

    Many thanks.

If cost is not a major issue then upgrade to a 360 box. ok maybe the voice search will be overkill but then again it works very well.

You can do a profile and have the channels exactly as you would want for him.
