Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anybody else think that Mustafi would be a better option to partner gab in defence rather then holding or am I imagining things.

This is crazy. Martinelli still clearly limping as he runs around out there.

Did you not see City's goal, where Mustafi stood there looking at the cross coming towards him and stood there gaping as Jesus nodded home unchallenged?

Why not just leave him off till half time? Odd

With an impact injury sometime the worst thing you can do is let it cool down. Keeping him moving and blood flowing will get him another 20 minutes or so but if it’s as hard a hit as it looks he’ll probably come off and miss a game

He's a better ball player but can't defend for his life unfortunately.

An unfortunate trait for a defender...

Did you miss him letting it through his legs about 5 minutes ago when Runarson made that save? He’s a horrible defender, liable to do anything at any time

Jesus must be one of the smallest players on the pitch. No way should he be winning a header there!

Mustafi knows well Arteta doesn't want him. He'll never get near the PL team again unless all the others break down.

Would imagine Holding is a coaches dream and buys into all the cultural values Arteta is trying to instill. Even though he's mediocre! He'll be a decent 3rd, 4th or 5th choice next year.

Ok my bad, sometimes he looks have decent and comfortable on the ball and quicker then holding.

But I see the error of my ways.....

I was just listening to Redknapp on Sky saying that Runarsson was at fault at the first goal.
Surely though a keeper shouldn't have to come out (even that late) to meet the cross. Basing defending from Mustafi would've meant that the cross would have never made it that far.

What if Runarsson called it and asked Mustafi to leave it?

You'd have heard it on tv surely, i think it was just slack from Mustafi

Martinelli is gone, madness starting him. Double madness sending him out after having 15 goddam minutes to assess him at ht

Fair point, though I never got the impression that they do that - I get the same from Leno, there doesn't seem to be much communication between keepers and defenders. Maybe something that needs to be done in training, because Leno has also been caught at times when a defender has a "brainfart" moment.

    Sorry for Martinelli.
At least he didn’t pull out of the challenge like many of our players would.
    A great player.

Had a feeling from seeing him before but honestly think that lad is the worst keeper we've ever had.

Kolasinic just as much at fault. Allowed himself to be pushed out of the wall, and the ball went straight through where he was. I thought he was supposed to be a hard man

    Defending knife crime, no problem.

    Defending football, big problem.
