Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

2.5m loan fee and we pay his wages.

    Is he not injured already?

He was injured most of the 2020 and now started 2021 with another issue...

I have my doubts if he's good fit for Arsenal.

We just gonna pay his salary till the end of the season or what's the deal?

Ah good God !! Not another injury prone player.
    Hope they check his back.

It will be absolutely ridiculous if he’s in the injury room for most of his stay here.

I really hope that’s not true.

Missed 9 weeks in total already this season. Maybe it isn't as bad as I think.

Time will tell. Sure he will have to pass medical now anyway, but carrying a knock now.

Wage is 38k a week apparently.

Irritating today to see the competent teams just doing the necessary in the cup.

Big if but if he could adapt to the. EPL quickly enough he could prove a great addition and support to Smith Rowe

Think he started brightly and then got injured and didnt get much of a chance in the team after coming back. Should be fully fit now and chomping at the bit to show what he can do. Fairly low cost as well for what might get us some sort of European football next year.

Have to wait for confirmation but sounds like there's an option to buy in the Odegaard loan if all in agreement

Does anyone else think that Jack Grealish would be a great addition to our midfield?
He’s strong, mobile, great at carrying the ball and at delivering a pass. Great engine too.
Sooner or later he’s going to end up at a very big club.
I think he’d improve us quite a lot. The more I see him the more I’d like see him in an Arsenal shirt.

I didn’t like that he didn’t declare for Ireland though but he was probably right.

Did you just start watching football?!

    No. Did you?

He was just visiting from the Villa forum

TBF Grealish is absolutely world class, right up there with the very best. Not much between what Fernandes has done for United and what he's doing at Villa, he has them five places higher than they should be. They'd be mad to let him go, if they are willing to spend the money they can build a great team around him.

Arsenal have agreed to pay Real Madrid a £1.8m loan fee for Martin Odegaard plus his wage of £38,000 a week, which would make the total outlay about £2.5m until the end of May.

By all accounts, a lot of player for that money

Who was the last loan player we got that made a significant contribution?

Torreira on the other hand might go back to us, couldn't cut it in Atletico. Monaco interested in buying him

Lampard might be sacked later today! Arteta was close to it about a month ago.

Typical Chelsea to sack him after a win.

Yeah, if a win over Luton can't convince them to change their minds, I don't know what will.

I very much doubt he was, on social media maybe but the board never seriously coonsidered it I would imagine, pretty sure that in appointing Arteta it was a long term project and he would always be given time. Correctly as well I might add.

If that’s true then chances are they’ll have cause to review his position again shortly. The next 11 in the league are eye watering

Tuchel to come in & replace Lampard later today is the rumour hat seems to be gathering pace.

A win is a win. Can't sack someone after a win. It's bad form.

I guess they should have sacked him before the match, or wait for their next loss, in the interest of avoiding bad form. This is assuming that they've decided to sack him either way.

Well he's gone now, just announced

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,467 ✭✭✭5star02707

Indeed confirmed by Sky Sports there

    https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/1353665421463990273?s=19

We only have 2 competitions to play for PL and Europa

Hopefully we start winning again tomorrow to boost our chances playing for Champs league spot. Still a lot of deadwood to get rid in our team

Can we cancel Willian while we're at it

Chelsea were hoping to beat us on Stephen's Day to lift them up to second, a month later and he's turfed out.

You'd have to wonder what was even the point in appointing a coach like Lampard if it wasn't a medium to long term project, like the Arteta project looks like it will be.

Hopefully Mustafi goes. Next up will be a badly needed cleanup / rebuild job in the midfield. Xhaka, Elneny, Ceballos, all likely to be in their last season at Arsenal imo.

Fair play to mustafi! The man just wants to play football, thankfully not at Arsenal anymore. He’s had some great games but more clangers than I can remember, 35 mil at the time was big money too. Wish him all the best cause he seems a decent bloke.

Did not mind him at all, he gave 100% and while not the most technical player he did the basic well. Shame it did not work out....

Ah the good old Draxler mill...

Latest one is PSG to offer a swap, Draxler for Guendouzi...

Real shame for Auba, just as he was starting to show form, but total respect that the club have stayed quiet & just hope all is well

Its times like this that Arsenal really stand miles above the rest

    What happened with Auba?

EDIT: Actually I re-read what you wrote, and I think the point your making is that the club haven't said. Grand. Hope whatever it is he comes out of it well.

Tierney is being assessed ahead of later. If both he and Auba are out we're gonna struggle.
Tierney and Martinelli I can live with but Cedric and Martinelli, not sure.
