Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

except that odegun is a loan for 6months only

Who's this? The love child of Odegaard and Balogun?

I will be fookin overjoyed if we beat UTD today, seriously.

But I just hope and pray that we turn up and actually give them a game, even if we get beaten and we give them a good game thats fine. But I cant stand when we turn up and just not give it a go and ponse about feeling sorry of ourselves.

    COYG.

Hope he starts our strongest team.
My heart won’t take Willian starting.
I’d like this - Leno, Cedric/Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Tierney, Xhaka, Partey, ESR, Saka, Martinelli and Lacazette. If the new lad is fit then have him on the bench to spring. He might start Pepe on the left though.

Jesus lads my son has just pointed out to me that Matthieu Flamin’s net worth is 14 billion dollars.
    Didn’t he invest well.

I think he was still playing when that news broke

    Wonder would he buy Arsenal!?!

I think I remember seeing him interviewed where he denied that.

I doubt the company is actually worth 28bn, and even if it is, highly likely with that type of company that he would have had to exchange equity in return for capital to get it to where it is, so he probably owns a much smaller share even as co-founder

Everton losing earlier was good for us.

    No Saka?

Sore hip for Saka. Tierney out too.

Still a decent enough squad. Man-for-man I think we should easily hold our own against them.

Huge loss in Saka and Tierney. Luiz could cause us problems but at least there's no Willian! Hopefully won't have to rely on the bench for any attacking threat as it doesn't inspire confidence.

Regardless of the result just want the team to show up and go for it.

Luiz has penalty written all over him....

Ironically, 37 years ago today a certain young Tony Adams signed his first professional contract with us....

No Saka, Auba or Tierney isn't ideal

    It’s crazy.
Tierney is a great player but if he’s going to spend half of every season injured what use is that. Don’t know what happened Saka either. He walked off just fine the last day. Auba’s mother is ill.

Apparently Saka has a knock (something got to do with his hip) so hopefully nothing long term and only a precaution. Unfortunate because he has been our most in form player.

One huge positive for me is that Arteta started Martinez for Saka instead of Willian like he has been doing recently.

It’s the defence I’m really worried about.
I don’t rate Bellerin, Luiz and the jury is still out on Holding for me.
I’d rather Tierney than Cedric too.

The confidence is drained out me especially when I look at the bench. From listening to Arteta on SKy Sports awhile ago we won’t be seeing Adegaard today.
He said he’d only had 1.5 training sessions yet. So I can’t see him sending him on.
Hopefully the negative vibes I’m getting are entirely wrong.

    Terrible defensive header by Holding.
Straight out to Fred in front of goal.

Promising signs between Smith Rowe and Pepe

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,727 ✭✭✭darego

link up play between pepe and ESR has been serious all game. need to start being a bit more clinical in front of goal, but very positive stuff so far

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,404 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

    Shìte ball, Partey. Come on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,404 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

We are giving the ball away far too often.
They’ll punish us for it yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,178 ✭✭✭beer enigma

We need that goal, one up and I think we have this. Good solid performance, Cedrics yellow is my biggest concern

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Underground

Martinelli took far too much out of it there, needs to release the ball quicker. Defending a free kick on the edge of our box now.

We can’t keep it at all.
Giving it away there is criminal.

Good thing Rashford's not very good. Leno did well but if one of our strikers did that we probably wouldn't be praising their keeper.

Biggest disappointment so far is our inability to play it forward from defence. Several times there has been passed there for the taking, but hesitation is killing us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,404 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

We are lucky to be going in level.
United had the best chances by far.

Couple of straight up crap passes have stopped a few promising attacks in their tracks.

the new lad might be able to fix that in the 2nd half

Really need to step it up for the second half. It feels like the game is being played at Old Trafford.
