Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Cracking save by Martinez heading to top corner Xhaka free kick

Gonna be that guy and say Arsenal would have a decent chance at getting a red for last man tackle there

Is Gabriel carrying weight or something. He doesn't look agile at all.
    Long covid maybe?

Saka was just about to be clear through on goal and gets pulled down. Just a yellow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,881 ✭✭✭TimeToShine

Last man bringing him down and just a yellow. What a farce

Last man defending fouled Saka hopes he's OK pls no injuries

Change Saka to Grealish and Konsa to Luiz and that's a straight red.

That's what I'm thinking. Kind of justified guys exclusion from the starting XI recently.

Another foul on Saka he's definitely being targetted

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,742 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

    Smith-Rowe a bit quiet today

Pepe looks like he's back to being too timid today. Brushed off the ball very easily on a few occasions.

I suppose it's a good thing that we finally have a player who is consistent enough to be worth targetting

How is charging down a free kick not a yellow card?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,109 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Grealish must be due a yellow soon based on number of fouls alone surely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Underground

Keown on commentary "very interesting to hear how much Grealish wants to be in that England team".

Is that interesting? I would have thought it to be absolutely pedestrian.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,109 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

Target with a handball. Not even considered for a penalty

Missed the first half hour. Since I put it on it looks like a "Pressure will tell" situation.
How come Traore was 7 yards away and handled the ball and no booking? Then even with the spray for the next free kick he gains a good yard and it's like "Whatever"?

"Losing against ourselves" again as Bellerin put it

Wants to be in it so badly he played almost 20 times for another country.

We've kept him so quiet. Feels like he'd committed more fouls than passes!

Fairly sick of playing against a 12th man

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,421 ✭✭✭Jmac24128

Frustrating first have, fluke deflection goal with a silly miss placed pass in the build up.

Villa should have a red card too that was last man. The rules are the rules. They **** us over with them them so fair is fair.

This villa team can be got at. No great shapes at all.

    Ps I hate grealish

Unfortunately, Arsenal are worse shakes as evidenced by the table. Struggling to stay in mid table mediocrity is what we are.

Don't agree with u. Unlucky to be down and robbed against wolves.

Not buying the negative bug today I'm afraid.

He's booked Partey based off a players scream. Completely out of his depth

I was more annoyed that he got pulled back in the build up to it and got nothing.

That was a stonewall red card in the first half for the last man tackle on Saka. Grealish and Traore should both have had yellows too. Absolute joke

    Ah Jesus Bellerin.

Getting on top now... and here is Auba

This is really opening up now if we could just be more clinical in front of goal. City would have three or four this half alone.

How's that not a foul on Laca by Emi? Or at least six of one etc?

Damn keepers and their protected status.

Lacazette dragged to the floor by Martinez on a corner. Free out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,109 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

How is that not a penalty when the keeper clearly had a full grasp of his jersey?

Laca was more interested in pushing into Martinez than he was at getting his head on the fricken ball. Never even looked to go for the ball.

Relatively difficult to go for a ball when a 15 stone giant is dragging you to the ground.

Odegard coming on, for ESR i would imagine. Although Arteta does love to sub Pepe off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,249 ✭✭✭mossie

Good work by Pepe in defence there.

Grealish going down with a head injury - after taking a ball in the face, poor wee pet. Soft lad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,109 ✭✭✭✭Quazzie

    Øde on for Cedric.

Saka and Pepe down the left should be good. Good to see a lot of creativity on the pitch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Underground

Interesting change but I just think Saka offers us so much going forward that it's a shame to move him to the back.

Game has kinda passed ESR by so I would have just done a like for like sub with Ode.

It's just not going to happen today is it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Underground

Wonder who'll get sent off for us today. Only 20 mins left to get the red card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,238 ✭✭✭Ardennes1944

    Willock starting for Newcastle

Is it just me or did that "tackle" on ESR on the wing get 0 ball and just made ESR stumble?

Would be nice to have to eat my words in the next 20 minutes but does Saka look to have gone off the boil bigly to anyone else?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Underground

Ffs, another Partey injury. He has no history of being an injury prone player. Just picked it up as soon as he came here.

The refs been poor today (again) but I think Target actually kicked the ball up onto ESR

Bit concerning how injury prone Partey is
