I might be on my own here but id keep Chambers, think he's more than good enough as backup.
Agree with the others alright. Would like to see more of Balogun and see if the hype is justified

Agreed... I still think Chambers is a really good squad player and he was playing really well under Emery before his injury. It took Luke Shaw a long time to establish himself at United and I think Chambers struggled initially playing in a team that had no block in front of the defence. Remember he also had to play right back for a while at the start of his Arsenal career which would not really have aided his development. Went to Fulham and ended up playing in midfield a lot for them and got POTY for them but again not sure it aided his CB development. He really hasn’t been given a regular run consistently and when he did I thought he showed good potential.
This is what makes me laugh that Saliba is being a hailed as the next Beckenbauer by some Arsenal fans yet a couple of bad performances and it will be ‘get him out’ ‘not good enough’ etc etc ... Jesus, Tony Adams had some absolute mares when he was starting off at Arsenal , imagine that was now, he would be hounded out of the club. Chambers has missed so much through injury and now that we have a good defensive structure, let’s hope he gets game time to see what he can do ... consistently!!!

I wonder how many players would be reading books these days. All with large headphones clamped to their ears and smart phone in hand is today's norm!

    I probably sound old!

I see we have the second best defence in the league with only City having conceded more.

The jury is still out on Arteta imo but I do see that as a promising sign.

Yeah, this has been mentioned before. Arsenal also had to make more saves than any other team last season. This season they’re 11th

ESR and Odegaard on the pitch together. Interesting.

Saka, Odegaard and Smith Rowe threading passes oooof would love to see what they can do up front

Interesting team. Ceballos & Saka wide, with Odegaard and ESR infront of Xhaka maybe?

No matter what it means that Auba is our CF which I am happy with as long as he stays up there.

Just knew when Auba passed that to Bellerin that it was going miles over the bar

Missed the start watching eggball, comfortable enough?
Irritatingly flashscore don't have the handy links to goals any more.

Is there not one player in the club that can deliver a decent corner?

One of my pet hates, how a professional footballer can’t beat the first man with a corner

    Not a pen for me

Considering the penalties that have been given in the last few weeks that's a stonewaller

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,985 ✭✭✭Soups123

Clear and obvious error?? No chance

    Could have been either or

No attempt made for the ball. Cooper came over an just pushed the player. Brutal call by the ref, but it doesn't surprise me.

It was given on field, go have a look is VAR code for change your decision there ref. As peno’s have gone this season that one was all day long

I'm actually staggered that was overturned.

What is the fùckin point of VAR if you use the replays to turn an obviously correct decision into an incorrect one?

    How is that even possible??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,922 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

How was that any different to the Luiz one against Wolves?

Every body is wants to feel important, VAR officials need there lime light

As overturns go it was appalling

Let’s see him over turn this one

Odegaard pretty ineffective, Leeds play so openly that Martinelli on and ESR shifted into the middle would put them to the sword.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,922 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

That's got to be a red for the keeper??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,922 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

Brilliant pen from Auba, great stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,178 ✭✭✭carltonleon

I mean, considering what happened with Luiz against Wolves, we should he had 2 penos and at least one red for them already.

You can tell Auba has his confidence back, he's smashing it when he gets a pen.

Great run from Saka, lovely nuts from Ceballos and nice finish but expect your keeper to stop that

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,307 ✭✭✭DarraghF197

Leeds 'keeper not having a great day. Won't be forgetting that VAR decision though, another one against Arsenal FC.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,922 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

Fantastic from Bellerin to give himself the half yard of space there, keeper a bit suspect perhaps but I'll take it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,881 ✭✭✭TimeToShine

Saka is playing great football. Best dribble in our team bar none, we can pretend we paid 70m for him instead of Pepe!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,713 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

If I see Willian getting ready for the second half, the laptop is going out the window.

I don't believe it. Willian. Again.

    Jesus Christ.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,510 ✭✭✭Underground

Arteta is trying to make the Willian signing work because he pitched for the deal to happen and it reflects poorly on him if it doesn't work.

It's the only explanation as to why he seems to prefer Willian to people who produce way more than him ie Pepe and Martinelli.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,881 ✭✭✭TimeToShine

Arteta must see something In Willian that we're missing, maybe he's a great off the pitch leader or trains very well, it certainly cannot be for footballing contribution.
