    Hi,

I'm looking to replace my old a/v receiver and thinking of decluttering with a sound bar.

    Current setup-
TV - Toshiba 47VL963b I bought my from yourselves in 2013!
Apple TV 4K (it only has hdmi out)
    SkyHD sat

Do I need to get something with 2 hdmi in ports (for the Apple TV 4k and Sky) and 1 hdmi out to tv
    or
Does it work - plug both apple and sky into tv via hdmi and connect tv via hdmi (Arc) to soundbar?

    Thanks,

    Tap

    Hi Tap28,

You can use the soundbar with ARC if you have everything connected to the TV via HDMI!

We have a special offer on the Denon DHTS316 at the moment which is down to £189:

It's a fantastic soundbar for the money.

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David

    Thanks for the reply-

How does is compare to the Sonos Beam?

My old setup was Sony HT - DDW890 6.1 - how does any soundbar compare against actual speakers?

    Hey Tap28.

It is hard to compare a soundbar to to a 5.1 speaker setup unfortunately.
You tend to always get better sound from a speaker pack and Receiver.

The Sonos Beam is the better product to the Denon DHTS316. It has the better sound quality and more features.
The Denon does have a plus with the added subwoofer.

The Sonos beam however at the minute is out of stock and we are chasing an ETA for more but nothing confirmed just yet.

    Hey Tap28.

You could look at something like the LG SN7CY priced at 349 Euro
    https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-204821-lg-sn7cy-3-0-2-ch-high-res-audio-soundbar-with-dolby-atmos.aspx

    It does Atmos with 3.0.2

To get something really good you need to go to the likes of the LG SN9YG which does 5.1.2 priced at 699 Euro
