Getting drunk might be the only way to tolerate Mundy singing The Galway Girl.

She has a movie out. She's doing the rounds.

RTE will round up a few "country stars" as filler.

C'mon Joe, you know how showbiz rolls.

Besides the bands have had a tough year, give them a break.

She paid for a vaccine, fair play. Clever woman. None of that 9 to 5 sh!te.

Mundy’s voice isn’t salty seafarer enough for this song.

Birr is about as far from the sea as you can get
    Dolly Parton country music special

Thats gonna be so bad, it'll be brilliant

I hear ya. But it would be nice to see some new faces other than the Carter twins etc.
They are already established. They don't need the publicity.

That's not very fair. That's real get drunk music. It's just that music has it in it. It drives people nuts.

Next week will be great craic with a country music special on the way. The booze will be plenty for getting mad drunk and jiving in the kitchen with a brush. Will be great craic.

This is a decent section in fairness

A few yarns, people enjoying themselves

Love this! Sharon is fabulous...so genuine....and energetic!! :pac:

Did not realise Adam Clayton was such a lovely guy....really enjoying all the chat about Winkle's in Kinvara....your man asking him if he played an instrument..:pac::pac:

The list of millionaire musicians who got Grant's due to covid is very very unfair. Ordinarily working musicians were ignored.

So sharon shannon got 17 thousand. And Jake Carter got 6 thousand. ???

Can this be the format of the late late going forward? Much more cheery than the usual celeb sh!te.

Thoroughly enjoyed this show!! Love Sharon's brother, Gary, also.....his description of Sharon was perfect....'she was born with so many advantages...great talent and looks.....and an extra battery!!' :pac::pac::pac:

I didn't watch last night but this came up in my feed today, and on seeing the thumbnail, my curiousity got the better of me to see what sort of woke mashup RTE were about to shoehorn in to the program.

"Let me tell you what this is... this is a very special performance" says the self proclaimed Toy Man, before a button on the squeezebox had been pushed, hoping to pre-empt the opinions of the majority of people watching who would have recognised it for the unholy mess that it was. A button accordion fits in to a rap song the same way that bagpipes fit in to an orchestra.

RTE need to give the opportunities to people based on merit, not based on their current criteria.

...but that Denise one that was singing earlier on, must be looking at Chiala, thinking 'what the **** is going on here, where did I go wrong...!?!'

The toyman also said, rather tellingly as far as I’m concerned, “you’re going to love what you’re going to see”. Maybe, but I didn’t love what I heard, for sure.
