Slade - Merry Christmas Everybody VS Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas - it may ot have aged well but at least the intentions were good.

The Pogues and Kirsty McCall - Fairytale of New York VS John Lennon and Yoko Ono - Happy Christmas (War Is Over) - not jumping on the "anything but FoNY" bandwagon because it is a great song....on the other hand, its also the most predictable winner, and I really like War Is Over as well.

Chris De Burgh - A Spaceman Came Travelling VS Dean Martin - Let it Snow - Yes, let it snow indeed.

Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday VS Andy Williams - It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year - I couldn't tell you a single other song by Wizzard so I like to imagine that they formed just for that song and then disappeared like magic (or like wizards, if you will! )
