Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Fairly disappointing first half

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,448 ✭✭✭launish116

    Henderson probably gone

Hope that isn’t his previous knee injury!

Pretty turgid first half from Ireland. Same old same old. Constant running into traffic and bar that last play we haven't looked like scoring a try.

    Absolute crap

Has Henshaw trimmed down a bit? Seems to have gained a bit of pace anyhow, he was sluggish enough there a couple of years ago. Giving it socks today, great to see

He's looked a good deal better these past few months. Was carrying way too much weight. His handling and awareness are all the better for it.

Much better second quarter for Ireland, Henshaw is monstering the midfield.

2 point lead is lucky, but again Scotland discipline killing them

Strong finish to the half - hope we get to play wide-wide more like in the buildup to the yellow card

I always thought that JS was intent in making him into a modern Kevin Maggs style battering ram.

Edit. Henshaw has been brilliant today.

Doris and Keenan the standouts for us, Henshaw coming into the game too, but we're still looking laboured. We look much better when we get the ball away from the rucks quickly... Need more pace from Murray. I think JGP is better suited to the way we need to play.

Hopefully that try changes the momentum of the game, if we up it from here we should get home but if we start again like we did in the first half we could be in for a nervy finish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Doris probably our most impactful player in the first half. Not a brilliant performance and our lineout is still poor. Will take the lead gladly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,038 ✭✭✭TomsOnTheRoof

The turnover after Henshaw's catch was down to Doris. A blip on an otherwise good half from him.

We have started every second half so badly for the last few games so not looking forward to this haha

    Fantastic kick from Sexton.
The high tempo giving him time to take those options.

    This is more like it.

Powerful stuff. Doris playing some great rugby.

No arms by Gray, should be a yellow and penalty try regardless.

Good try if it's over. Doris gave the ball away too quick off the back of the scrum - if it was a set piece move the rest of the pieces weren't in place.

All from a Stuart Hogg knock on...

    You love to see it.

    Great take by Murray.

God Scotlands ruck pens are dumb as ****e

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,415 ✭✭✭jammiedodgers

Be much appreciated if someone could get a gif of Hogg being pummelled into touch later :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

That was a great little carry from Doris from the base of the ruck. Didn't let Scotland's defence align and set us up for another big carry from Porter.

Well recovered by Stockdale in fairness.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Good try.

We got very lucky though. Our lineout maul yet again went nowhere and Murray's pass to Aki wasn't great either.

    Stockdale excellent during that

That was forward from POM I'd say

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,870 ✭✭✭✭mfceiling

Wow...you put the ball through the hands, you create space and score a try.

    Who knew?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    That was excellent.

So PoM CJ and Doris is our back row going forward then?.. tremendous stuff today

Doris the difference maker here. Getting us coming onto the ball at pace

That wasn’t even close to being a flat pass, got away with one there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 448 ✭✭eastie17

Super Hans Peter O Mahony says Donal. Had to declare for Ireland early in his career, the German RFU were interested

Last pass miles forward lol. Take the kick quick

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    Good kick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

That looked forward but it would have been a shame to rule out the Murray piggy back celebration.

Theyve been the best part of today anyway. I was critical of POM but he has stepped up this series imo. Doris looks to the Manor born

    Super exit from Doris.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,098 ✭✭✭UAEguy2020

Thats a huge try, hopefully the players express themselves more now.
