He's been a bit of a mixed bag. Average is probably the best way to describe his performance imo.

What game have you been watching? Murray has been excellent. He is really controlling things and he is getting the mix right between passing and box kicking which went way too far towards box kicking all the time under the last two years of Joe.

    What?

It’s not Herrings fault that Ryan gave that one away.

It was from a quick tap penalty after Herring came in from the side.

Going to the ref to call that a gouge is a bit pathetic.

    What's Fraser Brown talking about?

    Deliberately lying about getting gouged?

  • Subscribers Posts: 41,942 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

    The ruck is a MESS....

Its now in the defending teams advantage to wrestle attacking players to the ground to allow "only player on his feet"... And be the second or third player in to use his hands

Yeah that is shocking from him. He made the most dangerous tackle of the game earlier as well.

That’s a disgraceful accusation from Brown.

Yeah but Ryan still gave it away

He's been average, box kicking has been poor, one went about 5 metres, passing had been mixed, almost passed over Akis head 10m from Scottish line, went missing completely on a couple of occasions.

He hasn't been bad but anyone who thinks that's a very good international scrum half performance doesn't have very high standards.

Box kicking! Are you serious. Under Joe he had to basically do nothing but Box Kick and the whole rugby world knew how to beat that in the end. I'm delighted to see him not box kicking as much any more. And his passing has been pretty much spot on.

If you make an accusation like that you should be penalised if the evidence shows it to be untrue.

Yes, but it’s not Herrings fault that Ryan gave away the subsequent penalty.

Yeah agree, it is very hard to follow what should be happening each time. All over the shop

There could have been contact that wasn't caught on the video.

Great kick by Murray to set this up.

World Rugby need to start to treat things like that as bringing the game into disrepute. You don't lie about your opposition to try and get them sent off. Too many other sports do that. NOT rugby.

Carney appears to be a pretty sharp and good referee.

Yeah but Ryan still gave it away

In fairness Ryan was very very close to being back 10, Price had gone a long way.

Ritchie being told to watch his words with the ref, it’s one of the reasons I’ve drastically reduced my attendance to games in Scotland, becoming more and more prevalent.

Yeah exactly. Just because we’ve not seen anything on that replay doesn’t mean something didn’t happen. No complaints from me for any player raising such a concern to a ref and ref made the right call on it - checked - nothing obvious - move on.

Same as the other poster. He box kicks less and he's great lol. Talk about low standards.

Stander or Doris had elbows on the ground at the ruck anyway
Doris has been our best forward today. Earls our best back

Agreed. Just saying that you can't blame Herring for the subsequent penalty.

Scotland and Scottish teams are very hard to like.

Stockdale reminds me of an oversized bar of soap.

He is just not good at catching a high ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 837 ✭✭✭Subpopulus

I love Stockdale but I have palpitations every time I see him going for a high ball

Stockdale, if he's not already, needs to spend a few hours every evening out on the pitch and someone raining rugby balls down on him. Very unsteady takes for what should be bread and butter

Whoever mouthed off at the ref there I think distracted him from a possible knock on by Stockdale

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

Its so mental that Stockdale at his size seems so allergic to getting walloped when going up to catch. Should be clearing house and posterizing the opposition player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Carney appears to be a pretty sharp and good referee.

He gets them wrong like anyone else but he communicates very concise and clearly, in fairness to him.

Stockdale needs to stop leaving the catch behind him, uncontested to make it worse. That’s twice now.

Two great phases by POM, tackle and maul

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Blair Cowan just added his name to POM’s list.

    Just behind Japanese Knotweed.

Last game of the campaign, two scores ahead and 10 mins left they might as well empty the bench.

    Did Doris go off injured?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,433 ✭✭✭Dave_The_Sheep

Regarding the gouge accusation, I can only assume it was before the hand came through the maul - before we can see it. There's nothing after, but we've no idea what happened before. Just because we can't see it doesn't mean Brown is making it up - it just means we can't see it. It doesn't mean it happened either.

    POM deserved that :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 472 ✭✭Kraftwerk

That would have capped off a great game for POM. Pity. So close.
