Matip not playing is a massive loss, tilts the game in United's favour, hopefully we can overcome this, but, definitely up against it now

Shaqiri..seriously can't believe he's in. That is shocking.

Why so, when he's not in we're complaining , and now he's in and its shocking. He's looking very sharp, and super fit and confident. He's in a free role, will be expected to work though, but he's in a safe enough area to be effective, but not counter productive to the cause.

Did Alli not fail a medical with us before joining Spurs year's ago?

Thought there was an issue with a valve in his heart or was that all b*llox?

Don't think so. The story I always heard was we were given first refusal cos his manager was a scouser and fan, we met him, sold him on the club but then decided he was too expensive.

    That was Loic Remy.

Liverpool were interested in signing Dele Alli from MK Dons and Alli grew up a Liverpool fan. Apparently the transfer broke down over wages as Liverpool had a somewhat strict wage gap for young players and Spurs swooped in.

Could have been at the same time. My mind is on other things!

I thought Gerrard was supposed to meet him but he skipped the meeting for a nap, and that put Alli off.

Anyway I never liked the cut of him, wouldnt like to see him at anfield.

Edit; not exactly what I said but a few other papers read between the lines obviously. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/dele-alli-steven-gerrard-slept-12336477

Gerrard didn't get out of bed to meet him on a visit and he felt snubbed by his hero and picked Spurs instead. :)

We are allowing our injury crisis at centre back become a crisis in central midfield by not buying a defender. We needed one before the injuries, we probably need two now. Our two most influential centre mids last season are playing CB - nuts.

Agree with the defender situation causing problems in midfield...
But what can you do. These are the players that are available. And if you're gonna lose then fire all the bullets you can.
Think that's what we will see from now till the end of the season...it will be some ride

Don’t give two shats on how we play...just beat them & 3pts.

This is has been the longest wait for a match I remember in a long long time. This day is dragging.

Btw this is literally Thiago's first Anfield start

EDIT: First Anfield appearance in general actually!

Not much height in that Liverpool side. And United have a few very tall players so hopefully that doesn’t cost us at set-pieces.

Jesus. Sky come back from an ad to go to another ad.

Shaq links up well with Thiago, so I think it's a good pick. Attack minded either way. I expect Milner will come on at some stage to take over from TAA or let Henderson move upfield. It's an option that we can keep open.

Noticed that a while ago, it's getting ridiculous, they'll be squeezing them in when subs are being made next.

Set pieces have been disastrous lately anyway, can’t even beat the first man or else consistently take short corners

All these sound options I wish there was one for no commentary

Is there some special arrangement that Martin Tyler comments on every Liverpool game? It'd be great to have a break from him once in a while.

Firmino a couple of easy missed placed passes already

Unlucky Thiago. He's the one that looks like making something happen today.

6 Utd players plus de Gea in the box every time Salah gets the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 27,349 ✭✭✭✭super_furry

Have to do better there Bobby.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,424 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Robbo in acres of space if Bobby spotted him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,577 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Firmino in a bad angle to shoot, the pass was on .

And he cuts onto his left every time. His outside to in runs are very predictable.

Jesus tore them apart and Bobby wastes it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,722 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

Throw on Minamino for Bobby. He can't be any worse.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,964 ✭✭✭Podge2k7

    So wasteful from bobby there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,329 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

TAA was booked for taking a quicker throw in than any of United ones so far in a game V Chelsea

    Unlucky Shaq

Gini the odd one out in front of goal all slows up when he gets it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,579 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Amazed how dominant we are on the ball. Great way to protect the centre backs.
United seem to have a back 6 playing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,527 ✭✭✭Pepp1989

Gini and Bobby are taking way too many touches on the ball.

TAA wasteful. Bobby wasteful. Robbo wasteful. Thiago good touches but then wasteful.

Hopefully they can sort it when on top. United dangerous on counter.
