Just dip into the kitty and get someone but now with covid and brexit that could complicate things a bit more...

Well that's one way to reduce Spurs threat.

First VAR overturn on a goal in Liverpool's favour this season.

Henderson showing his lack of experience playing a ball like that .

Thiago is not getting through this game uninjured

Lots of passes, then breaks down with Thiago over and over.

This is sad tactics from Klopp, we all know what is coming. We should be the one parking the bus!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,955 ✭✭✭dogbert27

Things are breaking down with Mane on the ball too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,200 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

    What a touch from Mo!

Neeeeed to stop letting Son in so easily.

Playing alright here, all things considered. Do look a bit vulnerable when Spurs counter, which I guess was inevitable.

What the fúck has happened to Sadio's finishing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,827 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Teams have figured out how to play against us. Mourinho has clearly set his team up to pack the defence when they don't have the ball, and to try and break quickly when they turn it over. Tactic probably works against us given how we are struggling to break down deep well organised defences this season.

Good play... had to score, but we’re finally playing more incisive balls into dangerous areas and trusting the players to handle it.

Thiago is taking his time to read the pace/lack of space in the Prem

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,574 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

You won't score unless you actually shoot. We NEVER shoot .

He's a million miles off the player who had that touch and lob over Neuer

He's also a pretty rough tackler

We are playing well. But lads, James Milner? It’s time....

Yes, it's happening quite often. Problematic being on a yellow so early when you are playing a team that breaks so quickly.

He's making the right runs, but christ I'd prefer Gini to be his place, or Taki.

Christ, its only been 30 mins. Feels like 90 already

Teams have figured out how to play against us.

    I disagree.

The only reason it looks that way is due to no centre backs.

We can't push as high effectively. We can't hem teams in, because our best defensive minded midfielders are playing at the back. It means the likes of Son aren't being dispossessed by a manic Hendo in midfield, and teams are countering at will.

With a CB partnership worth a damn, teams would not have us figured out. The vast majority would be suffocated, like they've basically all been for the best part of 2 years.

Few players looking a bit more themselves. Trent and Bobby particularly.

Looks like Dier is going to be hanging off Firmino tonight, not going to get much out of Bobby if he doesn't give it and go quick enough.

Copy and paste from the last 5 games. Slow, 'patient' buildup with zero penitration and very few shots on goals. Need a change of shape or something. Definitely feels like teams have figured out how to play against Liverpool

We've had 2 shots from within 8 yards already.

This has been pretty starkly different from our past few games imo... look a lot more penetrating.

We need our chances to start dropping to Salah instead of Mane.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

    Kane backing into people again.

2 shots in 34 minutes. One was offside and one was wide. Total lack of killer instinct

Don't think it's anything like the other games, tbh. We look much more our normal selves.

Mane should have scored two already.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,700 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

Mane looks more out of form that the other two, easily dispossessed and his first touch is letting him down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,407 ✭✭✭✭Vicxas

Salah looks a bit more alive

I think Mo always looks alive, but in recent weeks has had nowhere to go with the other lads so static, so ends up running across and around a swamped box. Them moving and pulling defenders around today is helping Mo a lot I think.

Milner a bit of a passenger so far.

Sharpest Bobby has looked in a long time, hopefully it translates to his finishing.

Spurs are just looking to spring Son every time they can get the ball back.
