Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

One move or moment doesn't make a player. We all know he isn't good enough.

Sure, if you ignore the work he has done off the ball today as well. But you do you.

Big Div on to be the hero once again?

    Great run from Jones

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,980 ✭✭✭doc_17

He should have scored after doing all the hard work!

    Mad taking Salah off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Jones with lots of nice touches to create the chance, and then shot too early, needed to take another step towards keeper

You know we are desperate when you see Origi coming on

    Disinterested Origi.

I think Mini has been fine. I think maybe people are expecting a forward's performance but he's playing in midfield.

The idea that his teammates aren't passing to him just sounds like people seeing what they want to see.

He's reminded me a bit of Lallana. Solid possession in the final third. He's received passes under 2 and 3 men pressuring him and I don't think he's lost it once.

He hasn't been brilliant or anything, but it's not like he's stunk the place out.

I'd imagine that's part of why Salah was taken off. Come hell or high water he scores, he's played a lot of football and he has to be protected.

He's arguably our most valuable player (I think it's a bit of a tossup between him, VVD, Alisson and Hendo). There's an awful lot of football yet to come.

A point here wouldn't be too bad, particularly if we can beat Spurs.

Lallana was player at the level we use to be at. We are a totally different level to him now.

Wtf is the point in pumping high balls into the box

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Thank god Fulham brought on Kamara he's the only sub who did anything for us.

Adam was an incredibly talented player, just couldn't keep injury free. Those turns and ability to hold the ball is something we still need.

    No.

No team has 18 £100m+ players. Every great team in history has had assorted job-doers, journeymen and backup that was decent enough to get the job done.

I'd nearly take the draw we were so woeful in the first half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,694 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

That's that. Missed opportunity. Poor enough but at least we didn't lose.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,612 ✭✭✭eigrod

Take the point. Up the joint top, injury ravaged, getting nothing from the officials, Champions of England

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Phew, played crap and didn't lose.
    Game on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,081 ✭✭✭Fromvert

That was a nice chance today but Fulham where good first half. Going to be a lot of draw/losses this season for everyone.

Big game midweek! Really hoping Matip can play it, he's needed for that one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,122 ✭✭✭happyoutscan

    Fulham fans have been brilliant.

Another TAA sleepwalking masterclass. Good to see Klopp have a pop off him, he is fierce arrogant so it won’t do him any harm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,953 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Did Henderson actually complete a single one of those long balls today? even one?

This league will be won with lowest points ever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

I got stick on here last week for suggesting we had woeful away form maybe some might start to agree,
Villa, Brighton, Everton, Fulham a grand total of 3 points

You got a penalty you mad yoke

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

The injuries are really a problem now. Nothing on the bench. Ability to rotate much is almost gone unless you take a serious dip in quality.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,929 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

It needs to be said it's Salah and his goals that is keeping the team in the title race.

  • Registered Users Posts: 452 ✭✭Bloc Party!

Incredibly lucky not to lose that. Should of been at least 2-0 down in the first half and peno not gave against us. Between the top 4 nothing has changed so we keep going and hopefully get the result against spurs

Would have been a joke if that wasn’t given. Push on Salah and clear red card for Lookman not given - farce.

    Fulham fans have been brilliant.

What was with them constantly booing our players, or does that just stand out more with smaller crowds?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,489 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

We're heading back to the days when United were winning League titles with 75pts . Could be lower this season for who ever can reach it .

    Lucky point...frustrating as hell.
Maybe they should have had a pen but no way that goal should have stood.
Our penalty...tough one. Don't turn your back..
    Football these days...who knows

Lucky to get a point there, anyway.

It is always hard when you don't win, but Mane has been off pace the last few weeks as well. He was our arguably our best player for most of the last season, so to have him and Firmino not playing well is a problem.

I do feel that is also as much about our midfield as much as anything though. We need 2 of Keita, Thiago and Ox fit. One to start and one on the bench, that would give us a different option and some penetration from midfield. Jones may be that in the future, but he is not that now. Still, somehow we are still top when we have been okay and had more than our fair share of injuries.

If he was going through a drought like Mane currently is there'd be calls to sell him next month.

We’re joint top with 9 players to come back and our front 3 to hit top form in the run in. Be grand.

The thing is when will they be back and when they do come back will another 4 or 5 be flogged to death and injured because they are being played constantly

We really struggled with that small pitch, couple of kick-and-chases went straight out, plus a fair few deep crosses.

The pitch surface was poor too, didn’t help.

Fulham were also quite physical, we usually play around that but our passing just wasn’t right, partially because of the surface. They got a lot of joy out of aerial duels, we missed big Virg to sort out some of that stuff!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Ikozma

Haunted to get that point, I'm honestly more worried about our injury problems then I am with tonight's performance, its getting deadly serious now, hopefully matip only got a knock and will be OK for wednesday

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

We've dipped into the youth team this season for bodies but please grab someone from there again instead of Origi. He's the most apathetic player the league despite where he plays. He doesn't care and it really stands out in the worst way where he is.

Performance was absolutely terrible overall, very few players played any bit well and even the ones who did had their shaky moments. Fulham are a poor side, today won't change that but it just showed how low the levels can drop when we aren't at it. Klopp was going absolutely mental in that first half. God knows what the plan is now Matip got crocked, just after we rested him.
