Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Maybe Jones on. Need somebody to carry the ball between the lines and pull one of their defenders out of position.

Need a bit of energy in midfield. Henderson is some loss from there.

No pace. Shaqiri is a ghost tonight too

Its a shame we can't rest any of the midfield for tonight,

Milner is probably the only one who will sit out,

If Gini or Thiago get injured we are in trouble,

Such a shame we don't have City after the week break instead of this weekend

No sign of Naby or Jota yet

I thnk you'll have to accept that Milner is capable of playing and starting games.

We’re more dangerous from opposition corners than our own ones.

Thought Trent was one of our better players myself, aside from a few panicked moments on his left foot he barely misplaced a pass.

Injuries have of course been a huge problem for this side - but, even aside from that, we're just not moving around enough in the final third. You see someone walking across the line, with space in front of them, and you're just praying for them to make a sudden burst into it so someone can slide a ball through to them - but they're not making that run. That absolutely has to change.

Too many players want the ball to feet and not enough are prepared to run in behind or at the defence. You need a balance and only Salah is prepared to do the latter.

We'll often have one of the front 3 make a run into the box and get tracked by a defender, which leaves a big gap on the edge of the box for one of our midfielders to run into...but no one ever makes that run.

Totally! The spaces are there, we've just not been brave enough to use them.

Poor first half. It's back to our early-mid January form. Worrying.
Brighton well organised and look like they'll be very hard to break down.
Our defence are pretty solid but further up the field we aren't good.
Shaqiri not really offering anything at all. Firmino not at the races.
Salah not doing a lot either.
Thiago needs to get more involved.
I can see Jones coming on at 60 mins.

I mentioned Robbo earlier not risking a run in behind. Why?

I'd like to think they are conserving energy so they can pounce late.

In the 2nd half we should just give them the ball and sit back, because we all know how this ends if we just keep probing as usual.

Need changes here. Could play another 300 minutes with this set up and not score. Limited options on the bench to mix it up too, no easy solution.

I thought he constantly pulled out of putting a cross in and recycled the ball instead.

On the rare occasion he did try and cross, he hit the first man.

Could nearly throw Kelliher up there for the element of surprise. He'd hardly be as bad as Bobby has been.

Bissouma is gonna end up at Leicester.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Half this game has been spent waiting for Bissouma to get up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Every time the ball goes wide, it’s stopped, the person with the ball let’s Brighton reset their lines, then passes it backwards anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,288 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

    Lol never a free kick

Davies on for Milner... move Hendo into midfield? A draw is not much good for us.

Every single time a Brighton player goes down he gives a free kick. Absolutely shocking reffing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,564 ✭✭✭RugbyLover123

There has been some incredibly soft frees in this game for Brighton. Any time anyone is touched and goes to ground it’s a foul nowadays

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,629 ✭✭✭magma69

Playing with a bit more urgency now at least.

And our lads never seem to go down.
That's that. No coming back now.

I've never seen a season of luck like it.

    Honestly.

Typical of what we have to put up with this year attack with no danger and concede a joke of a goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,024 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

    That was predictable.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,522 ✭✭✭Pepp1989

Our performance is a carbon copy of Burnley and West brom. Slow passing for passing sake. Awful ****e.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

What a shît goal for a shît game
Trent had no idea what was behind him there, he missed the 6’5 defender coming behind him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,679 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

    Where the f is Jones?

  • Registered Users Posts: 452 ✭✭Bloc Party!

Trent ball watching is actually shocking. He looked twice and didn’t see anyone behind him and thought the ball was going out and left it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,288 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Liverpool should come out like Southampton and request Kevin Friend never to ref a Liverpool game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,586 ✭✭✭cmac2009

Trent totally oblivious to what's going on behind him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

A couple games respite was great but this is back to the woeful run of form. Haven’t done a tap tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,468 ✭✭✭corcaigh07

Kelleher's positioning and reaction time seemed a bit off for the goal.

Rumours of our demise revival have been greatly exagerrated

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,288 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Going with what he has given Brighton all night how was that not a free kick for Gini?

Time wasting at 59 minutes, ffs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,787 ✭✭✭✭Charlie19

Did we really think after our last two games that we were back on track.

    Maybe a little;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,358 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

Wijnaldum goes down. Nothing. Friend just looks at him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,679 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

    Divock? Giving up already.

It is a lucky goal nothing you can blame the keeper about

There's no shape or drive, need to get Henderson into modfield. I'd honestly bring on Davies now and risk playing him at the back.

They have been time wasting since the 1st goal kick
