    This is Dortmund 2
3.0. Klopp nearly got Dortmund relegated before he left. This is the same man who abandoned the fa cup last year to go on holiday. The man looks more like a Heavy Metal Music lover than a manager.
Could u imagine Ferguson going on holiday during the season.
David Moyes is doing a great job, who else is available.

He went on holiday and missed the FA Cup. Take your gaslighting somewhere else.

The worst thing about these defeats is the meaningless bull social media posts that the players are probably typing up right now.

We'll beat City. Confident of that, we cant break down the smaller teams who sit back and invite us on to them and soak up the pressure with two big awkward fcuks of centre backs. Brighton, Burnley the list goes on. Its very frustrating

How is finishing 7th and qualifying for Europa league almost getting Dortmund relegated?

Hard to process what happened there.

In the first half it just looked like a matter of when the ball would drop right for Mo as he was getting in behind them.

Then they got that poxy goal and we were in trouble.

    Bizarre.

So why don’t we keep Fowler, Rush or any other player that scored once or twice in previous seasons? As I said, he popped up and scored some vital goals, but he should have been moved on after the CL final, not to mind all the transfer windows since. Every players time at a club comes to an end, he’s past his sell by date, in my opinion.

So someone offered a contract by the club signs it then get the odd game here and there is stealing a living.

Grand, You could have just said you don't think he is good enough anymore the whole stealing a living is just bollix imo.

Another horrid performance. I had hoped the results in London would have kickstarted a bit of a run, but it’s like they never happened.

The opposition have been comfortable at Anfield for 2 games in a row. There’s no urgency, constantly doing the same things over again and expecting them to work.

There’s mitigating factors of course, but the XI out there are capable of so much better. It’s depressing to watch because for the first time in years you wouldn’t bet on us to score. I was buzzing for the City game but there’s not a hope that we pick up enough points now even with a win.

Just concentrate on getting top 4 and go hell for leather at the CL if it’s even possible. I can’t wait to put this season out of its misery.

Yeah, yis are making me a prick for quoting my own post, but here we are. I'm more confident of beating city than beating bottom of the table fodder.

Don't think there is a big mystery here to be honest. The injuries have caught up with us and knocked the stuffing out of the team. VVD, Gomez, Matip, Mane, Jota, Fabinho, Allison, etc. Hendo stuck in defence. Whole team is destabilised and unbalanced. Looked dead on their feet again tonight after a couple decent displays.

Hopefully can finish top 4 and regroup for next season. And that is by no means guaranteed. Maybe go on a run in the CL.

He'd want to get to bed.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,933 ✭✭✭Blanco100

A lot of ****e in that team if we are honest.

    Phillips, Milner, Origi, Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Firmino is 50/50 player now, architect of brilliant goals or rubbish.

TAA gets stick but the amount of time the ball is just shoved out to him time and time again to make something happen.

Klopp needs to find solutions and fast. Tactics figured out, flood the 6 yard box on crosses, pile bodies back quickly and we haven't a clue. We have nobody to shoot from distance either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,003 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Origi kept Minimino gone is bizarre

In fairness. Does anyone rate Minimino either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,198 ✭✭✭Talisman

Henderson has to start in midfield from now on. He was wasted in defence tonight. Henderson and Wijnaldum would provide Thiago with a better platform to perform and also allow the fullbacks to play their accustomed style.

    That's the title gone anyways.

Constant injury after injury was gonna take its toll eventually. Very little, if any, rotation possible for months on end. Gini having to play 90 every game. Robbo playing 90 every game. Players going to the well every game just to survive. It's all caught up now.

Looked so tired, flat & just plain s****e all game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,522 ✭✭✭Pepp1989

Whatever about individual players. I cannot understand the lack of movement and slow passing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Fab needs to be in midfield when he returns If that means Hendo moves to CB so be it.

This is it. Wouldn't be getting anyway excited by beating City on Sunday if it happens... we'd only drop points in the following game against Sheff Utd or whoever.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,779 ✭✭✭1o059k7ewrqj3n

The annoying thing is, we will play very well against City and could get a result, but with setbacks like that tonight, it's kind of meaningless.

I think it's City's to lose now. They have the momentum, they have the experience, they have what it takes.

To be fair he’s continuously jogging around the place, sometimes walking. It’s an over the top claim but it’s not far off the mark.

That is 7 points (2 of which we were lucky to get ) in 7 games against the bottom 6 teams

League was probably already gone now definitely gone now, gotta get the team functioning again , that means playing center halves at center half dropping/resting Trent and get Hendo and Fabihnho back into midfield.
I know Jurgen doesn't trust the centre halves at the club and while I can see why ,we have had ended with the same result he feared in playing them , a shed load of dropped points.

If we are not careful now Top 4 will be under threat and Champions league will be a blood bath.
No better man in World Football to solve this than Jurgen , but he needs to get moving on it now.

And slow lateral fancy passing from Thiago is absolutely heaven for teams that have this worked out. Why we are playing **** against **** teams.

I've got used to this losing feeling surprisingly quickly.

Bigger things in this world and all that.

City game will probably be much better to watch.

Brighton were lucky at times but ultimately deserved that. They bled for that result.

Liverpool seriously lacking in energy, movement, inventiveness and -crucially - luck. Title's gone folks, let's bed the new guys in and shoot for the CL.

This seaaon could really end this group
The squad most fell flat every game someone new is injured,

Milner, Shaq and Origi being relied on by a team who are champions,

    Ox is done,
Mane, Salah, Fabhino, Alisson all to good to play in Europa leauge

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,629 ✭✭✭magma69

Thiago hasn't bed into this team at all. The only game where he impressed was his debut imo.

As soon as Davies and Kabak are ready, they should be starting. Get Hendo and Fab (when he's returned) back into midfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,843 ✭✭✭✭yourdeadwright

Might help the squad if after 4 years the manger realizes you cant have Origi as your back uo striker

Its even more bizzare given how bad Firmino has veen for 2 years now

    And drop ?

Gini. He has been overplayed this season.

The amount of times he went backwards and got dispossessed tonight was concerning.

    FAB
    HENDO
    THIAGO

    City will hammer us

No, that's the frustrating thing. We'll raise our game for City and probably look like a decent team again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,798 ✭✭✭Ken Tucky

It will be a struggle for top 4 but we are where we are.
This season is written off but the squad is top class.
We get the defence sorted, next season we will be killing teams again. It's unfortunate but no way this team is finished.
Also, some of the lack of decisions given to us this season are astounding. I go back to the WH game where Henderson took a high boot to the head and look at some of the sending offs from last night. It's too strange and too frequent for there not to be something behind it.
I'm sorry for going all Blue moon but it's just incredible

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,360 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

If we blame individuals, we miss the point.

You can't keep papering over not having the spine of your team intact. No team can.

We'll have people telling us that we should still be competing, that there are still enough players. But that's showing a lack of understanding of what kind of game football is. It's about rhythm, familiarity with each other, teamwork.

We also cannot have a stable team when the base of our team is changing all the time, and has players who can't play out to the standard required. Brighton let Phillips have it, pressured other players, often doubling players, and we couldn't deal with it. They didn't even have to worry about Alisson's distribution. Trent is not good at playing his game on the halfway line. The team needs to be cohesive and effective enough to be up the pitch, or else he is quite ineffective, and a liability defensively. But that's a system issue. Hendo or Fabinho are normally the DMs covering him.

Brighton deserved it. Potter is a top class coach. He saw the weaknesses and his team was brave in possession.

I'm not even angry at the team. It's dysfunctional. There is no CB pairing, in the truest sense, to speak of. And so the balance of the team is fúcked. We can't maintain pressure. We can't hem teams in. We can't move them around to create space. It's just rhythmless.

Let's just get through this shíthouse of a season in the top 4 and move on with our fúcking lives.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,522 ✭✭✭Pepp1989

I'd glady taken a lesser cb like Davies or kabak and get our midfield ticking.

Move the ball. It suits Bobby. It'll suit the front three. It'll suit the full backs.

The way they are playing is an absolute shadow of what they were. The style is absolutely awful.

And having hendo/fab cb isn't exactly stopping us conceding the awful goals. Only now we know we can't score.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Normally I would be fuming but they've been absolutely cursed with injuries this season which is tempering my anger. If City or United had those injuries they would be sunk. City had one big injury last season in Laporte and it ruined them. It's just been relentless this season and we all expect the same level of performance as the last few years. It's probably not realistic under the circumstances.

Need top 4 though because you can't miss afford to miss out on CL football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,796 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Thiago is clearly a decent footballer, but he just does not suit our style. Too often he picks up the ball and instead of playing it first time, he takes a few touches and the window to attack is lost.
