A short corner with 3 seconds left

    WTF

That last corner attempt sums up the crossing today. Pass to Ox and it’s blocked.

Should have just crossed the bloody thing

Idiots taking a short one, look at the clock

Alexander-Arnold and Ox should be docked a year's wages for that **** corner.

Right result. Attitude in 2nd half was all wrong. A kick up the ass for a few players that need it.

Taking a short corner for the last kick of the game I DESPAIR.

Nothing more than we deserved in any case, we are a bit jekyll and Hyde and times this season.

    No less than wba deserved.

Way too arrogant against this team.

Did I miss some sort of time warp at half-time??

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,522 ✭✭✭Pepp1989

Trent was awful for the whole game. Most of the rest of them were awful for only the second half.

Can't argue with the result. Klopp better look at that second half collapse. Our fault we don't have 3 pts.

Another game another injury. You do feel to retain the title a cb has to come in now.

Loads of crosses into their big defenders all afternoon. Need a different game plan against the deep sitters... Regardless of who is injured or on the bench...

How is 2 hands on Fabinho's head okay for their goal?

Rhys is such a drop down. I hope and pray Edwards has something lined up.

His lack of pace is quite shocking.

Phillips must move about as fast as a barge if this fella is deemed quicker.

Did VAR even look at the way Ajayi held Fabiano's head for their goal.

That stupid short corner summed up Liverpool today at the end.

Jones very stupid to do what he did for the WBA goal from a corner too.

8 days off, had Christmas Day and Boxing day off too. They let loose maybe, focus dropped.
But West Brom put 11 behind ball for 88 mins

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Unlike Spurs where we played well that game this one was crying out for subs early. The ones Klopp made were sh!te. Should have brought on Shaqiri or Minamino instead of Chamberlain, who looked terrible too. Phillips instead of Rhys Williams too as Phillips only known strength is heading the ball which was all that was required. Origi late on was like West Brom bringing on another defender, pure time wasting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,290 ✭✭✭✭rob316

What is with the crossing lads? Robertson was outstanding but Trent skyed or over hit everything. Tricky, fast players like mane and Salah and we don't even try to play it through the centre?
That is 2 points absolutely thrown away and a chance to keep the chasing pack at length.

That and the Fulham game I'm utterly confused at the style of play.

Can't fault West brom. Sam always plays that way. We got the early goal.

    We blew it second half.

Young arrogance great going forward, not so much when making a calculated decision, he thought he'd get away with such decision.

Beginning to think we're better off playing every 3/4 days. Any time we have a decent rest period they come back and play like ****e.

Mane held, two arms around him, and pulled down in box. We know how much he loves to turn his man.
Again, they get a penalty if we do that to them.

Time to buy a center back next week I think.

Also that save from West Brom keeper from Bobby at the end was a worldie.

Game needed the Locksmith Shaq, but he never got off the bench.

That's as angry as I've been after a Liverpool game in about a year.

Got the goal, and genuinely thought they could coast it. Thought those days were over.

Little energy. Little accuracy. And generally just phoning it in.

But the most infuriating thing was the management of the game. Once it got to 60 minutes, Matip got injured, and it started to enter the final phase, where Allardyce wanted to get to, you have to realise what is going to happen. You must stop the set piece at all costs, because no matter how amazing Fabinho has been, there is only so long he can resist.

Curtis Jones must learn from that error. You must simply manage the situation sometimes. Get the ball down the line, as is what you're coached, and start again.

But West Brom fully deserved their point. Can't stand Sam, but he sucked us in and got us.

    If not us, who?
Because any team you name has played worse and has less points so would love the reasoning behind your constant misery.

    Its easy to say that.

But we had no answers to break them down.

Many ways to skin a cat.

Gave away some ridiculous corners there in the 2nd half. Robbo sliced one out from 40 yards out. Then Curtis tries to play it across the defence to gift the corner they scored from. We really gave them what they wanted which was corners and free-kicks. Just stank of complacency.

Only 2 shots on target too.

The ref is also Kevin Friend only time he gives Liverpool anything is if it is very blatant

82% possession in first half, one shot on target.
76% possession overall, just two shots on target.

That sums it up. WBA were as good as us, probably marginally better than us, in the 2nd half. Can't argue with them getting a point.

I was surprised Klopp made so few subs, needed Shaq in to give it a different dimension and to rattle WBA for a few minutes.

Disappointing, but not the end of the world, need 3 against Newcastle, no question about that.

We had this issue before, always seems to have difficulty playing against 5-5-0 and 5-4-1 formations.

Henderson had the ball 50 times central with everyone backed off, he always passed wide though. Wish he'd be a Gerrard once in a while, and win the unwinable game with a long range strike. He never shoots though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,363 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

If you don't think West Brom deserved that, you're watching the wrong game.

We needed to play quicker and with urgency, or shut the game down at 1-0. Couldn't do either.

    What?

He scored from a shot outside the box in literally the last match we played.

We're dropping too many stupid points this season - it's frustrating and somewhat worrying.

With the state of the rest of the teams we could have had the PL wrapped up by the end of January.

I still see Man City as our main challenger and I think we will beat them but we need to start putting 4-5 game winning runs together.

They absolutely deserved that. We were so sloppy just like against Fulham.
We ****ing hammered these teams for the last 2 seasons, but we casually walked around the pitch, made bad passes, over hit cross after cross.

Everyone and their dog knew sam's tactics were get a scrappy equalizer late on, same as everyone knew spurs one trick was son/Kane on the counter we got hit by both.

How we didn't push for a second instead of pass it side to side all game I'll never know.

We were poor overall. We're normally able to find a way w to win these games, but were very flat and laden today, after the initial first 25/30 minutes.

Someone earlier mentioned the break, and it's true. We sometimes come back from an 8-10 day break a little rusty, and while the 3/4 day break isn't ideal, we seem to thrive on momentum and rhythm.

Injuries gain a worry, with serial casualties Naby and Matip broke again. Trent is still not back to normal after his injury either.

It's a bad 2 points dropped. Again, strange subs used, we needed Bobby on the pitch late on, not Divok.
