Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

There's Thiago immediately doing what all the other midfielders are afraid to.

An embarrassment? What a ridiculous overstatement. Gomez would improve this defense considerably.

Anyone half decent would. That’s not saying much.

Much better there - even if disallowed - with proper quick movement and passing. That's the sort of stuff that should be in stark contrast between pro's and kids.

Not really sure how VAR can uphold that decision

Jones wouldn't make that villa team

He's 19. He's having a bad run, after having an excellent run. Let's not get too carried away either direction.

We've a lot of senior lads doing no better.

Good to see a fellow neutral enjoying the game ;) :pac:

Not even watching mate i just came into see if they were as bad as the score looked. Kinda like a future scouting mission. :p

Jesus this is bad. I honestly thought we’d be 5/6 up at this stage. What’s more worrying is with all the possession we don’t exactly look like scoring.

Money well spent by Shaq on the top of the head medical procedure.

Nice of Orange Gini to show up at last.

It's fuckin nuts how much better at literally everything Thiago looks compared to everyone else. Passing, tracking, dribbling, tackling, everything!

Good placed finish from Gini, and good quicker buildup to work the space for the chance. Mo, to Taki, to Gini.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,926 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

    Gini :)

I really want to see him partner Fab in a central two.

Good work all around there, Salah finding Minamino a lot this half, great spin and pass from Taki after that, and then a, ehh, "Dutch" finish from Gini.

A few minutes ago Villa cleared the ball and Williams was just watching it land before Thiago screamed at him and he charged out to head it instead :p

Minamino has come alive isn’t the last 10 mins.

BT saying the non celebration is due to COVID. Read the room.

I'm going back to wanting to smash things when we play bad. I'm 8 days into my new year's resolution and it's not working so...
    Absolute s*ite

No such covid worries when the Villa lad scored and rightly so it maybe the biggest moment so far in his career

It's not even that Thiago does things quicker than the other players, he just does them at the right time, he'll often hold the ball for a few extra seconds but it's never because he's out of ideas or looking for the easy pass, his timing is just immaculate.

The vision Thiago has is so far ahead of everyone.

    Salah now.

That pass from Thiago to Shaqiri even had my eyes fooled. World class.

Great work from Salah and Shaq but again that's all from Thiago, looks like he's going out to Neco and plays a beautiful disguised ball to Shaq instead.

    100%

Wouldn’t have taken much for BT to give plaudits for being professional.

Finally looking a lot more slick. Changes have made a big difference, Shaq playing a part in 2. Using the spaces so much better.

Terrific finish from Mo now on top.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

What put this into context for me was that a lad that my son played football with at school last year, started for Villa tonight. Bit of a mammoth task for Villa, wife is sitting here saying awwwhhh every time they concede now.

Thiago playing like we used to!

I know he’s been injured a lot but Shaq has been criminally under-utilised in his time at Liverpool.

Especially in games where teams sit deep.

So yes, I disagree and I’ve disagreed.

Ah you're talking through your hoop now. Completely ignoring mention of VVD and Fab as part of the spine, and about having defensive solidity. All you wanna do is whinge about Gomez.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,495 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

When Milner is pulling out the Cruyff turns, you know it isn’t a competitive game anymore.

Thiago is going to be our Bruno. In that if he plays sh!te we struggle and if he doesn't play we really struggle.

It is such a pleasure to see Thiago pass a ball.

I'll never get tired of it.

Thiago really does love a header it seems
