House Insurance when selling

What's the best practice in terms of keeping a property insured while it's vacant and on the marked/sale agreed? It's vacant and has been so for 2 weeks. I have switched off the mains water and drained the tank in the attic. Should I notify the insurers?

It's probably going to vary from one company to the next. FBD only asks to be notified if the house will be vacant for 45 consecutive days. Check your policy document.

You need to notify your insuer. Most will apply unoccupancy conditions which restrict certain aspects of cover and impose requirements regarding inspection, water, heating and security.
