But they were armed and it wasn't about gaining access to them, they wanted to kill them!

I love that you took the actual caption and edited it to suit yourself. It's like that Katie Hopkins one when she put the dart on her own head.

Ah yeah I'm sure if they had let them into the chamber, noone would have been hurt, they just wanted a chat. They brought the gasoline in case their senators had overrun on their travel expenses, very thoughtful

    Twitter the source? No.

The thousands of people who were right there with their cameras out, who then uploads their pics/videos of the events to their social media accounts..

It isnt even confirmed that was Officer Sicknick. Even the twitter user who posted it says it was shown to him (sources unknown) and is apparently Sicknick (unproven). He goes on to admit the images are crude. It could have been an entirely different police officer who is alive and well.

Again, the story as reported by ABC is that authorities believe the death was driven by a medical condition. And that reports of an attack on Sicknick are unconfirmed. That why I said send on your information to the police so they can evaluate it.

You are honestly deluded if you think they just wanted 'access'.

They went in there to seriously harm, and potentially kill.

Multiple bombs found, guns found, one idiot managed to taser himself to death, others had cable ties.... They were not there to have a chat with politicians.... You're an apologist, nothing more...

They don't believe it. It's just chaff. Ignore bad faith tarpits.

This week there was an attempted coup in the United States of America with the approval of the outgoing president and participation of a number of serving and former government and military personnel. Everything else is static.

Was Ashli Babbitt armed? Genuine question - all reports indicate she was unarmed.

Any evidence they wanted to kill politicians?

    Are you actually insane?

They forced the doors open, they attacked the cops in the corridors and beat them as much as they could. They had zip ties and weapons. Some even left bombs behind.

It was literally live on TV!

I saw a video of them chanting "hang Mike Pence" at one point. What other spin could possibly be put on that? Maybe they didn't mean it? Where are you getting your media spin?

edit: I actually saw it on a live stream as it was happening. Who are you going to believe, me, or your lying eyes

You can gain access to your representative numerous ways. Writing a letter. Calling to their constituency office. Storming a capital building is not of them of. And you know this. And some were armed. And they killed a police officer. And youre talking absolute nonsnse for quite a few pages now.

And I've seen video of capitol police standing down, waving the protestors through as they enter the building. So they weren't perceived as a violent threat or the police wouldn't have let them enter.

Her behaviour does not remotely match that of a person who wants to talk to a public representative... We have plenty of evidence they wanted to hold them hostage eg the cable ties. The explosive devices at both the Capitol and hqs of the GOP and the Dems indicate that people present wished to inflict harm on politicians. Plus that big van of guns and explosives...

None of this sounds like a peaceful chat...

Okay, so she was unarmed when she was shot dead. Because people here are making it sound like she was fully armed and shooting.

You're fooling nobody with this pEaCeFuL nonsense. They were going there with the explicit purpose to overturn the election. Much closer to the Beerhall putsch than the picture you are trying to paint that they just wanted to go for a chat and a cup of tea with Nancy Pelosi.

Neither you or I know that, don't believe it's been stated one way or another. She was climbing through a window to gain access to politicians so she legitimately was a danger. That is not the behaviour of a person there for a chat, no matter how much you like to pretend it is.

Spin 'em every which way you want. Lol

Was it the ghost of Derrick Evans, a representative form the West Virginia legislature who stormed the Capitol, or really him?
He defended himself before resigning by saying he was only there to record history as an independant media. Quite the heroic stance, eh?
Patriotic liberator one day, sheepish sideline observer the next. Coward.

Well, its on the people making the claim she was armed to prove it. There is no evidence she was armed. So she was an unarmed protestor.

The reason that no time was spent trying to assess if the woman was armed is the same reason why cops are trained to shoot to kill, not shoot to maim. Shooting is a last resort. There's no room for foggy ambiguities when dealing with a potential deadly threat, this woman was on her way to letting a mob in to get to where lawmakers were hiding. The cops were completely justified in putting her down. It really isn't comparable to the George Floyd incident because of the situation that was unfolding and the location it was unfolding in, as well as the message these people were sent in with that they had to fight to take back their country.

It's very easy to litigate issues like this on a discussion forum days after the event, there's no time to do as such when your seconds away from a potentially very dangerous situation escalating into something much worse

That was outside the building when they moved the barrier, with a different section of the police involved. Have you ignored the videos of them climbing over walls, breaking through doors and windows and screaming at the people in there?

How can you be so wilfully ignorant of this?

Whether or not she was unarmed she was not a protestor. You don't have to be armed to be violent. Anyone peaceful wasn't going to be the first to charge in to get the representatives.
