If Trump is impeached and removed, he can't run again. What happens to the hundreds of millions he has already collected for 2024?

There's a long line of creditors waiting, including 400 million to DB and a few shady Russians

yes but he can only spend it for political purposes. If he is barred from running again then he can't spent it on a campaign.

Officers can indefinitely AFAIK, and the enlisted ranks can for a few years.

Because they and other specialist ranks can be recalled from retirement through the likes of stop loss etc?

That is how a protest is organised. As AOC herself said "The whole point of protesting is to make ppl uncomfortable. Activists take that discomfort w/ the status quo & advocate for concrete policy changes. Popular support often starts small & grows. To folks who complain protest demands make others uncomfortable... that’s the point."

Sure, the politicians in that room may have been uncomfortable but that is what protest is supposed to do, right?

There's a difference between making people "uncomfortable" to highlight a grievance and trying to make people dead because the guy you voted for lost an election.

McConnell has rounded up his minions and knocked them into line. There will be no witnesses called if the impeachment proceeds and will follow similar format to Clinton's.

Yep. The military can order you back to active duty for that very purpose. It's not done often.

Does a court martialed vet lose their benefits and pension etc?

Could be a real wake up call to a lot of folks if they have actual skin in the game

They sure could, can be stripped of all their pensions, medals, and distinctions, rank, etc.

I'd settle for a few years in Gitmo.

As much as I’d love this to be true I’m sceptical, if he was on the no fly list there is no way he’d have got past security and over to the gate, not a chance in hell*! I reckon he’s been refused for another reason and is having a sh*tfit because the gate agent said he was a risk or something of the sort!

*unless he was added in the few minutes between him clearing security and boarding time???

Billy was being sarcastic here. Unfortunately, we live in an age where people post precisely such stupid nonsense and aren't being sarcastic at all. They really believe this stuff.

These days, sarcasm has to be explicitly pronounced.

Shame really, as it kills the joke. But, here we are.

It could be hours between security and gate, some people check in early to take a nap etc.

That’s true yeah, although from far too much experience flying domestic in the US, people more often tend to be “just in time” than “way ahead of time”. It’s possible tho. Golly I hope it’s true haha!

Agree, for such a diverse society they do go a bit OTT on the Christian ramblings a fair bit on both sides.

The mention of the 14th Amendment relates to the possible expulsion of members of Congress for trying to overturn the election.

Every dem and gop in any interview since wed has mentioned God in interviews. Its as simple as this if you aren't praising God you aren't getting elected. That's what happens in the states. 2 right wing parties go figure

Seems to be a lot of legal confusion if you can impeach a President after they have left office. CNN reporter saying as its never happened before its unclear where the lie of the land is. SUPREME COURT!

Thats unreal footage, at 1.40 you can see a protestor pushing a police officer off the wall and then another throwing a fire extinguisher at the bunch of officers below. It might be the incident that led to the death of Officer Sicknick.

More new footage, this time a rioter shouting at police and then assaulting one of them
