“It was a grotesque orgy of deadly White Supremacism, anti-Semitism and strong man rule.”

    What a line!

    That fast?
    Interesting.

I'm GLAD this happened but it should have happened IMMEDIATELY when the Capitol was breached.

They just clarified both sides are at about 18 mins and 17 mins left of floor time.

It's a ploy to change minds in this vote. He may have been told the numbers are very close

He told them in his speech at the Capitol to march peacefully and after rioting broke out condemned it and told them to disperse. It couldn't be clearer.

"I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."

I think you're leaving out a bit of the context there, or even 90% of it!

Do you think that it's ok to tell his base for a couple of months that the election was rigged & stolen, and then to organise 'something big' for the 6th, and then to spend the morning whipping the crowd into a frenzy with the same messages?

If you were there and believed what he said don't you think you might be motivated to take a little more action that just marching?

What would you say if one of our own political parties spent a couple of months telling their supporters that an election was rigged & stolen, and then organised a big march on the Dail, reving the crowd up in a similar manner, and with the crowd then ransacking the Dail? Would you say that the party leader had no responsibility for what happened?

Democrats queueing up for their chances, all limited to 30 seconds.

Meanwhile the republicans scraping the barrel, giving the most moronic all the time they want. Even time to stand saying nothing.

This is infuriating to watch. That country is doomed.

It’s kind of interesting that the republican efforts to absolve Trump of responsibility for last week effectively throw his supporters under the bus (to the extent that Trump hasn’t done that already). That’s got to piss them off

It doesn't they would sacrifice all for dear leader.

You have to laugh at these Republicans talking about due process and how unfair it is on Trump. At the last Impeachment trial in the Senate they refused to allow witnesses to testify. Also McConnell and other Republicans made it clear before the Impeachment was even voted on that they would vote to acquit Trump regardless of what was presented to them by the House Articles of Impeachment.

I wonder given this impeachment trial will be after he is gone will it give an out to Republicans to vote in the Senate for it as he will no longer be a sitting Republican President and can he be removed as part of the Republican Party
