So if this vote passes, what happens next?

Impeached twice is something else though.

What's the outcome for Trump on this if he's impeached here but survives the Senate trial vote?

He'd still be able to run again

    Still have a pension

    Still have a travel budget

    Still have lifetime secret service

Still have an office and staff after leaving

So really is this just symbolic? Surely there's no way they'll get the 16-17 votes in the Senate to reach the 67?

Nothing AFAIK, just the record of being the first president to be impeached twice. So much winning.

It seems that the Trial won't begin until the 19th at the earliest, and has to share time with cabinet confirmations.

To this day, its still mind boggling how such a known charlatan has got so far in life.

Literally has bluffed his way to the highest office. It will be one for psychology studies in years to come.

Doesn't the senate not vote to remove him from office then ? Assuming the Dems don't have majority yet there

Unbelievable scenes given the Covid crisis. Politicians openly chatting in groups indoors.

Ironically the Orange Man turned out to be a lemon.

To be honest, incredible that he likely avoided ever facing criminal charges for the first seventy years of his life.

Gym Jordan calling for Liz to step down from leadership after doing the right thing, while that sh!t stood back and let sexual assaults happen..

An impeachement seems like a censure to me if it's not followed through with a conviction. Similar to a motion of no confidence.

So if the President isn't in office he can't be impeached...this could go no where?

not sure if its been mentioned but if they wait 100 days for the Senate vote I expect in the coming weeks a sustained release of information re Trumps dodgy behaviour now the Democrats will have access to all the files etc, would imagine Comey and Mueller's mates will be a font of info, might not be a 2/3 majority now but that could change if enough dirt can be dished. One thing most would agree about Trump is he has more than his fair share of enemies.

Fox said it could be up to 20. Seems a bit high to me.

This is something I have been thinking about

How did such a vile man get to 70 before we knew he was?

And it makes me wonder was a lot of his past 4 years of hate and warring as much to do with playing to the gallery as it was him being him...
