People signing up fake names is not an excuse for why there might be low attendance, its also not suppressing them either as its a free event with no limit on attendance, the hope is they will not learn from their previous mistake and announce total signups before the event and look absolutely idiotic when a fraction of that number turn up.

They still have the ready made excuse anyway.

They never need a reason to come up with a "poor me" excuse.....

They would claim fake registrations regardless, so having a tiny crowd in a huge place is just icing on the cake

Also, how many people here are not 'going to DC' for the 1/6 rally? Any K Pop fans here?

I'm not "going" and so is my wife!

they are going to be thrilled to see all of the Joint Chiefs are attending.

People signing up fake names does not stop genuine supporters from signing up or attending. Where is the suppression?

I'm not saying there's any suppression. I'm saying that they will claim there is because of this organised campaign.

They are being handed ammunition for their claims.

Even if nobody did fake sign-ups they will still lie about the reasons for the attendance if it is low.

In the grand scheme of things, a few fake names, is hardly an organised campaign. If there is an organised campaign it wont be us.

I take great exception to anything I am involved in being described as organised. :D

There's also an argument that fake names means lower attendance and less covid spread. So Donald getting into a huff is grand.

Firstly its not an "organised" campaign, people are just doing it because its funny to watch them make tits of themselves, secondly they would make that claim even if nobody was signing up fake names so the point you are trying to make still falls flat

I can see it now, Donnie standing up ranting that “the radical left wing of boards.ie are to blame”.

Donald might try to force Boards to be sold to Oracle before he leaves in a few weeks.

Is Trump not in fact a member of the "radical left" by now, he is the one pushing for a greater redistribution of wealth by increasing the stimulus cheque. It's hard to keep up with him.

Don't the folks over there not understand the process ?

Sure they can object to the certification, but then both houses will have to vote not to certify.

Even in worst case if the Senate votes not to certify - since Republicans holds a majority, the house won't as the Democrats hold the majority there. The folks are just hyping themselves for a huge disappointment!

Been following on social media. It’s a whole disinformation effort. Rasmussen shared a blog post saying Pence has the “unilateral” power to make Pence a “Kingmaker” and Trump a “King.” It also quoted Joseph Stalin. Someone is trolling “American Patriots” into thinking that the USA should have kings and elections should be ignored like the Bolsheviks. They can’t actually be falling for this stuff yet they are. “Trump has a chance? Oh I’m sharing this!”

As you said the claims of the Rasmussen linked blog are garbage and the law doesn’t work like that. Someone is making them think that if Pence is not in fact the supreme chancellor of elections that they should start a civil war. Definitely smells like a piece of foreign interference but who could say.

The Republicans only want socialism when it suits them and puts money in thier pockets.

The day after WaPo ran a story about the Proud Boys treating this DC hotel as a covid super spreading HQ for staging attacks against Antifa and setting fire to property at black churches, it has announced is fully shutting down for the days surrounding the right’s now scheduled January 6 rallies to contest the election

He's taking no chances. Room rate has increased ten-fold from the night of the 4th of January to the 5th.

Even for him, the symbolism of overtly racist supporters congregating and taking selfies in his hotel would be just too obvious.

BREAKING: Mitch McConnell has blocked a unanimous consent request to pass $2,000 stimulus checks in the Senate.

The GOP really don't care about people.

Really puts Loeffler in a corner. She was forced to support Trumps $2000 “proposal” but now Mitch makes it clear that if you vote her in you get Majority Leader Mitch and Mitch doesn’t want you to have relief money.

Still think Georgians will disappoint us and elect 2 super swampy individuals back to DC though.

I was reading earlier that the trump hotel has released the block booking they were holding for the inauguration and made them available at a discount.

Won’t help the Jan 6 crowd though.

$4500 for one night! 7500 for a suite!

    450 the following week!

Inauguration discount is 2000 for the basic room!

The armchair lawyers on Twitter though.. like, bouncing between dumb **** like “only Jan 20 is in the constitution” but also “Pence will flip the vote on January 6!” A date prescribed in law, the same law these lawsuits wish to pretend doesn’t exist or matter. Flummoxing, though ridiculous and ergo highly entertaining.

Unbelievably crass wording from Trump, seriously, how stupid can this man get?

Why is Trump pushing this? What's the benefit to him?
