Double Burnley defence (if Charlie Taylor manages to get fit) for the win!

This has been weeks in the making!

Looks good, think I'll get a Burnely defender in this week, I can afford Coufal to Mee, so think I'll do that.

Both due a rise soon, if they both rise togehter I can't afford the switch, if Coufal rises before Mee, I gain .1

Are many wildcarding in 25 ahead of 26? I think the Leeds v Southampton game going into 25 rather than 26 doesn’t help.

Southampton could very well have 3 consecutive DGWs so they will undoubtedly be heavily represented in my wildcard, but Leeds won’t have one in 26 so they don’t fit amazingly into the bench boost plan.

Fixtures and injuries would put me off Southampton at the moment but of course a lot can change before then.

Not sure. I can't make head nor tail of organising my doubles and bench boost and / or triple captain. Never mind the wildcard! Team feels so template but I don't know what else can be done atm than go with the flow for a couple of weeks.

Are WHU going to double at some stage in this? I like Antonio's next two and he's better than DCL imo. But the benching headache of the Watkins Bamford Antonio lineup is horrendous. Want to see if I should wait one week or not.

Only if they beat United in the FA Cup or there is a postponement. Feels like a while since we’ve had COVID chaos.

3 city, 1 Leeds and 1 Southampton. I'd likely bring in a Burnley defender for week 24 though and maybe swap him out then for a Leeds defender then. Fulham don't have anyone worth bringing in ATM, and with Everton against City, I wouldn't be expecting anything off DCL there and he's the only one of them worth bringing in.

If Southampton get some form together though, Ings could be worth a shout

Digne and Hamez surely worth some consideration.

Is anyone with 2 city defenders thinking of moving to 2 city midfielders. I know the run of CS have been unbelievable but the fixtures were as good as it gets for C.S. prospects. My 3 city are Dias, cancelo and gundogan. I dont really see myself captaining gundogan and am thinking I want Sterling if Kdb isnt back. Dias isnt going anywhere but would it be crazy to do cancelo to lowton this week and son to sterling next week.

Cancelo carried as much threats as the midfielders in a lot of the games I’ve seen. Dias has less threat but he comes with the benefit of being the closest thing to nailed that they have after Ederson.

Sterling has a higher ceiling and a lower floor for sure so could be a better captain.

Other option is turn gundogan and son into lookman/raphina and sterling. Think ill bank this week anyway.

Banking this week sounds like a good shout. I like the move if you’re not high on Gundo. I will be sticking with Gundo though and using transfers to bring in more DGWers for 24 before I likely wildcard in 25 (which means I don’t have to plan for Leeds and Southampton in 23/24)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,667 ✭✭✭Klonker

Only have 3 Man City with a DGW in either 24 or 25. Think I'll only bring in Pope for 24 and Bamford and Dallas for 25. I don't want to get too concerned with DGW players, especially when itll mean benching players with good single fixtures.

Would be mental to sell Dias or Cancelo.

Raphina and Sterling is a no-brainer where Son is concerned.

One could argue Raphina and GunDuggan is as good.

I’ve the same 3 City as you and the only one I’d consider selling would be GunDuggan to bring in KDB. I don’t see that happening for at least a few weeks yet. I may even finish the season with the 3 I already have.

Is gw 26 still going to be a big dgw?
I still have bb and want to get it out of the way in some of the upcoming gws.

Looks that way. The only game that was announced yesterday that I had pencilled in to be in 26 before the announcement was Leeds v Southampton.

All those FA Cup Quarter Final postponements have to go somewhere and there is no more obvious place for them.

Gonna aim for a Bench Boost DGW26. There doesn't seem to be same type of fixtures as the last DGW where everyone wanted double Man City etc. There should be a more varied spread of players this time around.

I wanted to BB last time around but injuries struck and it just wasn't worth it.

Wildcard out of in GW27 will a long term view, avoiding BGW29 completely. BGW29 is gonna be a minefield really.

All aboard the triple Burnley defence train.

I'm tempted by similar but not sure you need to WC out of 26, it'll be mostly good players you have

As a GW25 wildcarder, it is probably in my interest for that not to happen, although I'm not petty enough to actively hope for people to not have info (especially since it doesn't make a difference what I hope for).

If people don't know which of the GW24/25 DGW teams have DGWs scheduled for other specific weeks also, it makes the planning process for the next few weeks more complicated. If you know Burnley, Everton, Fulham or Southampton have DGWs in 26 to go with their current one it makes it much easier to load up on them now.

I've a feeling I will wildcard 3 Southampton and 2 Leeds in 25 and then move 1 of the Leeds to a DGWer in 26 (so having 14 DGW players and then probably Bamford or Raphinha in 26 bench boost). If Southampton don't get the 3rd DGW against City and Sheff United in 27 then I probably won't have 3 of them and will decide between having 1 or 2 (probably Ings and McCarthy if I decide to have 2).

The amount of good teams that are likely to have DGWs makes it easier to both plan for without a wildcard (if you're not bench boosting), but also to wildcard a great team that you're not wanting to gut when GW27 comes around.

Gundog is coming in one way or another he's killing me. Either for Sterling or to sublime him. Can move Stones to Digne as well so not too drastic

Dunno what to do about city and that's just for starters!

Currently only have Stones and I have a feeling the center back pairing could well change over the course of the 2 games with Laporte coming in for either.

There Midfield well god only knows! Gundogan Sterling or maybe Foden are main options but again can you see any of these starting both games?

Burnley's defenders are gonna be star the show or a complete trap so I don't know if ill go there just yet.

Everton the obvious one is Calvert Lewin in for Antonio for me anyway.

I have pope, Digne and Dcl already I'm thinking a Burnley attacker instead of doubling up defensively

City look very very solid at the back only for Salah diving today they would of had another clean sheet. Rotation is the obvious issue otherwise id get another of there defenders in.

If i have to go Burnley it will at the back or nothing and even then.

Yes put with pep it's very hard to call ederson is probably the safest bet.
At least with the Burnley, Everton and Fulham lads your pretty much guaranteed two starts

So as it stands we know Leeds & Southampton double in GW25

GW 26 depends on how next weekends FA Cup games go. Teams that go through next weekend will blank in GW 29 (FA Cup 1/4 Final) and these fixtures will move to GW26. Soooo

Spurs could have a double of Burnley & Southampton. Probably means I’m gonna hold Son and hope this materialises next weekend. In theory Southampton could have a DGW in 25, 26 & 27!!

So here’s a rough idea on what might be moved from GW 29 to GW 26
Man C v Wolves (City beat Swansea)
West Brom v Everton (Everton beat Spurs)
    Burnley v Leicester (either advance)
    Southampton v Spurs (either advance)
Sheff Utd v Villa (Sheff beat Bristol)
Liverpool v Chelsea (Chelsea beat Barnsley)
Cry Palace v Man U (Man I beat West Ham)
Brighton v Newcastle (Brighton beat Leicester)
West v Arsenal (West Ham beat Man U)

A load of those are dependent on each other tho, United and West Ham can't both win that game for example.

Also, the games are midweek, so we only have 2/3 days to wait to know the doubles/blanks

    My initial plans are:

GW25: Lowton, Cancelo, Gundo, Sterling and DCL
GW26: Dallas, Raphina, Bamford, Ings (-4)

    Bold = transfer in.

Current team (0.2 in the bank):

    Martinez Macey
    Justin Dias Cancelo Cresswell Dallas
    Salah Bruno Son Sterling Reed
    Wilson Bamford Antonio

Have 2 free transfers, thinking of putting in Gundogan for Sterling. The other transfer would be Wilson out DCL in but can't do it without getting rid of Sterling. Plan then would be Raphinha in for Reed.

    Gameweek 24:
    Cancelo Dias Gundogan Reed DCL

    Gameweek 25:
    Dallas Bamford Raphinha

Only other alternative is to just put in Ashley Barnes and hope he scores in one of the matches. Don't want to touch the defence ideally or take out Son either.

Is GW26 still supposed to be the biggest remaining double gameweek?

I guess it's probably early enough that teams aren't already on the beach if it's somewhere after GW33/34 so I might spend my wildcard and Bench Boost / TC to target this one

I just don't like relying on City, ever, it's always a gamble in a gamble. I somehow ended up with two City defenders this week, but if I end up pulling the trigger for Gundogan, which is tempting, I'll be ditching one, probably Stones.

The only gamble is the rotation from what I can see. And after initially thinking that he would rotate a bit, I think Pep will leave well alone now. You could see how much it meant to win yesterday so the league is the priority.

I've gone for the triple city defense (Cancelo, Dias, Stones)
Think Cancelo still might start from the bench a few times given his role in the team so I might take him out and get Gundo

He's about 20% ownership now, I would think that'll spike with the double this week as well

Atm, I have only Stones I was thinking of Sterling in for Salah as punt but feel Gundogan is in better form and could come in for Soucek.

Calvert Lewin in for Antonio is the other one im thinking.

I don't want to go any further than a minus four so Burnley are out for now.

I've currently got 6 with a DGW24 (one an injury doubt) but ALL my other SGW players have excellent fixtures.

Huge benching headache never mind having anyone worth transferring out for a DGW player.

    Who do you bench here???

    Popex2, Martinez
    Shaw, Cancelox2, Dignex2, Cresswell, Coufal
    Sterlingx2, Gundoganx2, Bruno, Salah, Saka
    Woodx?, Bamford, Antonio.

I wonder will Wood be fit. That would make it somewhat easier. After that I'd prob drop one of the WHU defenders (probably Coufal). Then it comes down to one of Saka, Bamford or Antonio. I'd probably bench Antonio.

Arsenal and West Ham won't have any blanks or DGWs for the rest of the season

Leeds won't have any blanks or DGWs after GW25

This is excluding potential postponements due to Corona etc

Yes, but it all depends on how the other DGWs fill out.

Have McCarthy, Targett, Bamford and Soucek myself, and its distinct possibility.

Antonio is yellow flagged at the moment

Yeah, I'll see how DGW26 is projected to be once the Cup games are over before I make a final call. Antonio should be ok, Moyes said something about tiredness so last night is (hopefully) just a rest.

I think I'd BB your team also if it was me.

Yeah looking there West Ham and Leeds with singles in GW26 makes it less enticing.

Lets me move Robertson to Burnley Defender -> Dallas -> Robbo over the next few weeks

That's a tempter. I could see Martinez getting another 10 pointer in that one. very very similar to my bench but I have Brewster and will be starting one of Coufal or Bamford, so not considering it myself, but I'd be very tempted with that bench.

Arsenal are pretty stingy at home. I think they mostly have their defence sorted out and the reverse fixture was 0-0, so that might put me off. Leeds could struggle in this one.

For that reason I'm thinking of starting Coufal over Bamford
