You would hope so but I think it was back in GW25 or so that they announced fixture rearrangements literally 5 minutes after the deadline

Azpi playing at RWB for the 2nd game in a row would make me think he doesn’t play at the weekend. Especially since he is a lock to play the 2nd leg. Don’t think Silva plays the 3 games in a row either.

So almost by default it feels like it would be Rudiger, Zouma, Christensen with Alonso and James in the WB spots?

Which interestingly also probably makes them a bit weaker defensively.

He was taken off just there on 66 minutes so that could indicate he starts in the back three at the weekend possibly.

He went off with cramp by the looks of it. Not sure if the fact that he went off increases his chances, or if the nature of his going off increases his chances instead of a rest.

    Hard to know now.

Im half expecting that Rudiger is also rested v Fulham this weekend. Ive Mount as well and he is another candidate . Its very hard to second guess Tuchel though, he needs the 3 points v Fulham to further lock in top 4 but he also needs fresh legs for the second Madrid game

The only reason I see Rudiger as more likely to start the 3 games than Azpi or Silva is that he’s still in his 20s.

I think it will be Christensen, Zouma and one of those 3, but Rudiger seems marginally the most likely IMO.

I have Martinez, digne, castagne, bruno, saka, nacho and Watkins. So 7 dgws for 35. I currently have 4 players blanking in 36. Not sure whether to FH in 35 or 36. If 35 I have to sell one of the 4 above that blank in 36 this gw. The problem with FH 35 is what players to target. Lots that I think about may not play twice due to European games before or FA cup final after and then SGW players I have like salah and kane have good fixtures.

Im in a similar scenario- have a free hit and if Bens chart proves correct then Ive 8 players for the DGW and then 5 not playing in the BGW. Im not making any decision until the announcement or the deadline, which ever comes first.

But my strategy is likely to be happy with the 8 DGW players and not to go doing any major surgery with the free hit chip but use it to ensure a full playing 11 in the blank GW. Main reason for that is Im playing the game conservatively till the end of the season as I opened up a 40 point gap on a main rival at the weekend just gone, he had a nightmare of a gameweek while everything went brilliantly for me, it ended up 67 to 28(-4), ouch! Winning this money league is now within my grasp so I feel if I go doing major surgery chasing 11 DGW players it could end up backfiring on me. Also the DGW fixtures arent that attractive

I want Gundogan back in my squad but there is no way he gets decent playtime with CL ties. Took him out last week for Soucek. Foden and Stones in my squad ATM

Think I will be going City less for the rest of the season, unless a sentimental last game gamble on Sergio.

Man this is a tempting play. Will be on every free and penalty and his teammates will be doing everything to get him a haul

An all time FPL great. A banker captain when fit and firing

Didnt work out very well for David Silva owners last year as I recall.

Yep.. I still have the emotional scars from Dilva on the last GW of last season.

Brought him in and captained him....easily my biggest ever fcuk up in FPL...cost me about 150 quid in lost prize money

    Great spot Fitz.

Problem now is does it mean a DGW for FPL purposes? Or will the FPL adjust the deadlines?

Ben is already on it. They pretty much set a precedent with the gameweek deadlines so can't see why they would move them around now.

It could just mean a DGW for the 4 teams with outstanding fixtures to reschedule, which changes alot.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

So basically, we don't know yet?

So holding the WC for another week and sticking the TC on Aguero is a better plan* than rushing a WC this afternoon and sticking the TC on PVA for a DGW?

    *There is no good plan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,969 ✭✭✭✭alchemist33

Maybe the FPL website will update with the info? But probably not as the PL seem to treat them like an embarrassing stepchild

Yeah I think sensible thing is wait for an update from FPL hard to know whats going on right now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,557 ✭✭✭✭CSF

They may wait til after 6:30 to update it, I reckon they only announced the changes now because of the social media blackout

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,688 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

So basically, we don't know yet?

yeah it would seem that way, gonna come back to it at 5.30pm and see is there anymore clarity but I dont think there will be because we wont be getting any official tweet from the FPL about deadlines -they are on the social media boycott over racism/online abuse from now until Tuesday.

    https://twitter.com/premierleague/status/1388129782936870916

The timing is pretty bad for us, we'll get nothing official now

From my reading of it GW36 is May 11th-16th. Starts with Southampton vs Palace, ends with Everton vs Sheffield United. If it is that, then Villa, Everton, Southampton and Palace have 2 matches and no one has a blank.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,079 ✭✭✭✭Fitz*

There is a social media blackout, but they may still update the GWs in the actual game. Better off for us to check there.

Thats my take on it. It would mean.
Southampton have Palace and fulham at home
Palace have southampton at home and Villa away
Villa have Everton at home and palace away
Everton have Villa away and Sheff utd at home.
It would suit me perfect as I have the FH and it works better than if they are in GW 35 .

Just had a look and they have yet to update with the new fixtures in 36. Hopefully it might update before 6.30 but wouldnt be surprised if it happens on the overnight update

If it is that it isn't too bad. I have a bench boost to play, I don't want any blanks in that gameweek ideally.

Great that its been confirmed and the fixtures have been updated in the game itself

Have 7 players doubling and 4 players blanking, thankfully still have the free hit as well so can target it either way. If I FH the DGW that gives the opportunity to get Bruno in as captain v Villa and Leicester. Nothing else really stands out in the other double fixtures.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,711 ✭✭✭dr.kenneth noisewater

Have 10 DGW players and then 7 missing GW36 with no chips left. Hard to know what to do as dont particularly want SOU or CPL players and not many villa players either

Thanks for the reminder on this! A palace defender might be a good bet to cover both 35 and 36 - Ward maybe.

You have completely undersold this episode in FPL lore.

It was the year 2016 and all was right with the world. Vardez had entered the lexicon of the day and ElTel was en route to 7th place overall.

It was the week before the big double game week and Everton and Palace had a random double. Palace hadn’t kept a clean sheet in the calendar year. Lukaku was on fire. Common sense called for a Lukaku captaincy, triple captaincy was common.

Into the scene strode a young GetWithIt with a red hot wildcard and triple Crystal Palace defence. The rest, as they say, is history.

^^^ I was talking about GW26 this season where they got 2 clean sheets in the DGW against Fulham and United.

DGW coming up for Liverpool and United I guess after today, unless they can turn around and play tomorrow or something (United play Europa on Thursday).

Doesn't look like any obvious slot to play the game before the end of the season, without rejigging a host of fixtures. And at the end of the season United will have the EL final the following midweek.

    I'd guess..
West Brom V Liverpool moves to Wed 12th
    Liverpool V United is the Sunday 16th @ 4.30pm

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,688 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

Still waiting to see what happens with Liverpools fixture. I see Ben is now walking back the idea of them having a DGW of Brom and Southampton in 35. He now thinks they will have a double in 36 of Brom and United

    https://twitter.com/BenCrellin/status/1389575996945301510

Its a mess, just hoping they announce what is going on today or tomorrow. If there is no announcment before the deadline Friday then that probably makes DGW36 for Liverpoool more likely as if there is to be a DGW35 for them they kind of need to be announcing it very soon as the Brom fixture would be played on May the 12th, i.e. one week from now

    Maguire the most nailed.

Dont forget UTD have no game on week 36. Risky having more than 2. Better with pool players, likely to play three times in two game weeks.
