Wording of the regulations

Just incase anyone had missed this - legal requirement all poultry and captive birds must be housed by December 21st due to Avian Flu. Inside a secure building is preferable but there is provision for roofing or netting runs/pens to prevent wild birds entering but food/water must be inside a building or coop.

Confirmed outbreak with culling in Wicklow and several other sites undergoing testing/assessment

With the outbreak of Avian flu, all free range chickens must be brought under cover. It's been in place since before Christmas but first I heard of it was on FB yesterday. Registered with the dept. in March/April but heard nothing from them.

Thanks for the headsup, I have four running around and just heard of this now (registed around Ocotober but haven't heard anything since). Going to feel bad for them tomorrow!
