The GME fear !!!! I have a stop loss set up on my Degiro account at 300 dollars. Is there any reason that this would not be executed ???

Disaster for me. 5% down. Can't take many more days like this or I have to pull out entirely. Hoping for a recovery.

similar story for me - down 3% today, but overall was up about 20% before this week. Trying to ignore all the noise on Gamestop and AMC etc. I don't have the risk appetite, trying to stick with longer term positions, fight the fomo and take up some small positions on SPACS. Have been trading since June - don't know enough about this game yet. Ive been relying on MyWallSt for some of my purchases and up until today thought I had a decent enough portfolio :pac::pac:......

So are you all thinking AMC is going to tank in the morning? I think there is still appetite out there for about 100-150% increase tomorrow. Will be an interesting watch, but will be glad when it’s all over and we can get back to a more stable marketplace.

NAKED IS GOING INSANE AFTER HOURS

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,192 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

My guess a gap down overnight at some stage, stop losses triggering like fireworks when trading opens, could catch a few people out.

Lot of new posters in here today.

Too many comments to reply to, in general, this is a very unusual week. Nobody knows how it’s going to end. Only put in what you can afford to lose. If you’re buying New Zealand Lingerie companies (NAKD) with your rent money, you’ve a 50/50 chance of doubling your money or having no rent money

AMC will be fine for another few days. Just a bit of profit taking at the open and the close today. I’m not sure I’d be buying in at this level tho, this thing probably goes to 30/40 but it may not. There’s easier ways to make money

Fair play. Funnily enough I was also multi tasking, teaching from home while watching things with GMR. But playing with only about 2.6k. Still not good for blood pressure!

Could have just bet it on a horse. Much quicker.

Does NAKD have the potential to explode? Has is been highly shorted? I am a complete noob, tried to make a Degiro account to buy some before close but I was too late (not on revolut)

this did not age well :(

Its going to be one stockafter another now with several heavily short stocks being out in the public so you could make a killing if you do it right

Easy man. I've 90% of my portfolio in long positions such as Shopify, Pinterest, Amazon, Sales force, Stichfix, Crowdstrike, Data dog etc. I know I took a risk. But that was my own choice. I got out when share price 350,which was the exit I chose. Many many will hang in with these until at least Friday close. Irealise I was lucky but no need for the harsh comment.

It's not harsh. It's just accurate.

KOSS went from 93$ after hours down to 49$ , there is a high short interest on this stock so keep an eye

Blood pressure was ok thanks had stop loss of - 5 percent in fact doing the school work was more stressful as you probably know... back to the bread & butter stocks tomorrow for me

I mean, long term trading is a gamble too, maybe with shorter odds but still risky. Was easy to make some bit of profit today even for people who didn't know what they were doing, not so much when betting on horses

If the casino atmosphere remains I will. This isn't investing.

Yeah great analogy. The roulette wheel usually is 140% shorted, and has 3 million people bigging it up on a forum as well as Elon 'Midas' Musk giving it a thumbs up on twitter. . Jesus guys, I get why most people didn't play this but chill out with the jibes. Yes it was a risk (and is an even bigger risk to still be holding, ye have big balls lads!) but it wasn't a complete flyer. There was reason to buying in with the unique, probably one off set of circumstances.

Think you got me wrong..I was in on BB and still in on AMC if you've been reading previous posts in this thread. Can still joke about the situation, no need to get defensive. I'll always throw some YOLO money about every Q on 1-3 while keeping the rest on more stable picks.

Been investing for 5 years, buy and hold strategy some big winners some losers.

But I’ve made more money in the last 5 weeks that I have over the previous five years, mostly down to wall streetbets subreddit.
