Hi, I bought the following off ye over the last year or so, a Denon AVR3600, 4 Monitor Bronze FX, a W10 Subwoofer and matching Bronze 5 front and centre speakers.

I've been doing a bit of messing with the setup and I am unsure what Crossover frequencies I should set for speakers.

    Bronze 5 have a frequency response of 37 Hz - 30 KHz
Bronze Center have a frequency response of 60 Hz - 30 KHz
Bronze FX have a frequency response of 65 Hz - 30 KHz

I also have 2 Dali Alteco C1s as front heights that I also bought of ye and I can't see anything in the documentation about their frequencies.

Would I be right in saying, I should set the Bronze 5s to be small speakers and then set the cross over to be 40 or 60?

Center and FXs based on that might need to be set to a cross over of 80?

I also see on the Denon under Bass there is a setting for LFE and LFE + Main. Its currently set to just LFE.

    Thanks,

    Hi Mr Freeze,

    Thanks for the post!

To set your crossover frequencies I would set your Bronze 5s as "Large" speakers as they are Floorstanders and then set the Crossover frequency on your subwoofer to between 50 and 60Hz. This will cut off the higher frequencies of the sub and blend with the lower frequencies of your speakers to give a seamless integration.

I would set it with the front Bronze 5s as the majority of the sound will be coming from these two speakers so the sub will pick up the slack from the fronts.

On the LFE  and LFE+Main settings - if the speaker channel is set to "Large" you may want to set the Bass Setting or *Subwoofer Mode set to LFE + MAIN as this setting will duplicate the low frequencies to the Subwoofer. If you set the Bass Setting or *Subwoofer Mode to LFE nothing will output to the Subwoofer with the exception of the LFE from a Dolby or DTS encoded track!

Let me know what you think!

    Kind regards

    David
