Necro Presents - Album Walrus

24-12-2020 10:10am#1Whilst you're wetting your whistle with the very first TV Walrus, I've decided to have a crack at full Albums.
The premise is very simple - sometimes a song isn't enough to encapsulate an artist. Very often the single song lacks the context of an entire album, capturing the ebb and flow of the theme.
Let's put that to the test shall we.
I'm going to have three categories for this, given the probably large workload this will entail I think more categories would mean this could drag on a bit longer than is intended.
Note: Please don't submit *Best Of* albums. To me they are an accumulation of an artist's best work, and thus naturally are already favourable in content.
The three categories are as follows
My Fave Artist - Show me what one of your fave artists has in their repertoire, make me love them like you do.
Movie Soundtracks - exactly what it says on the tin
2010s are alright, ya know - An album from 2010 or later, let's see what new skool has, and will I find it cool?
Keeping signups open over Christmas and probably into January, no upper limit here so go wild.
Just to let you all know that duplicate entries in this game will receive *half points*
So for example if Necro and LeVar submit the same album which scores 18 points in total, both players will receive 9 points as opposed to the maximum 18 on offer.
An incentive to be more unique, if you will.7

Just kidding, I need me some listening for the next few weeks. Full albums is going to be interesting. Gonna start downloading em all on spotify in next few days and getting thoughts onto paper.
I've an idea in mind for the reveal that might differ from other Walruses a bit, but I think that full albums deserve a bit more appreciation than single songs, in particular with the blurbs some of you have sent me accompanying your entries...

As a slight aside*, I've often thought Walrus reveals could benefit from a couple of sentences on why it was nominated. "What they said" followed by "What I thought", that's what I was thinking when it gets round to me...in particular with the blurbs some of you have sent me accompanying your entries...

Good luck with that. Some of the time you'd be lucky to get the proper song title from some people, or you have to deduce what category they're nominating any given song for as the list isn't even in order and often the PMs need all sorts of decoding, never mind trying to get everyone to send in notes as well.
Some people do send great blurbs, and always try to have a few accompanying sentences myself when nominating, but sometimes you get Walrus submissions in and you'd spend half an hour scratching your head wondering what feckin drugs some people must've been taking when they threw together that PM... :rolleyes:0
