Conversely, I never really got into the tv series but I read the book and thought it was okay!

I read the book because I worked a few days on the TV series and both were absolute sh*te.

The TV show paid well to be fair to them though.

Now if only I could remember the answer to the question...

It's a science fiction/fantasy novel. Lots of time travel, stories played out over millenia
