So with Fermgale in we have all the answers

So according to Dermot Keogh's Twentieth Century Ireland FF promised 84,605 jobs but of course that has very little to do with this quiz

We had four people who shared the wooden spoon with a guess of 500,000

Or at least that's what I would be saying before Ted came in with his guess

    KathleenGrant 3,500
    HeidiHeidi 5,000
    Neowise 8,000
    Toto Wolfcastle 8,000
    Mollyb60 10,000
    the purple tin 12,000
    feargale 15,000
    Also Starring LeVar Burton 20,000
    cj maxx 20,000
    Jaded Walker 20,000
    Osh 20,000
    Posy 20,000
    cee_jay 25,000
    duffman13 30,000
    Irish Aris 30,000
    Kolido 30,000
    Shorty69664 30,000
    bubblypop 50,000
    Zaph 50,000
    khalessi 53,372
    Purgative 60,000
    Reberetta 70,000
    Trigger 75,000
    Aaronjennings 80,000
    rainbowtrout 90,000
    Lawson Ashy Logjam 100,000
    kitten_k 100,000
    Sawduck 100,000
    Pawwed Rig 120,000
    Collie D 150,000
    Electric Nitwit 150,000
    hurlingman97 250,000
    mustang shelly 250,000
    Loughc 260,000
    BuileBeag 500,000
    Sephiroth_dude 500,000
    ShaneU 500,000
    wrestlemaniac 500,000

I feel so much better about my answer having seen Ted's 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That would have been a gnarly 4-way wipeout only for Teddy Bear.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,515 ✭✭✭aaronjennings

    I knew that

Definitely wasn't a random guess plucked out of thin air

What? No, of course I'm not lying

How many jobs did they actually deliver? :p

Was the FF strategy in 1932 to pick such a precise number to make it sound like they had actually done work on job creation rather than just picking a round number which could be dismissed as a soundbite?

If I were you I'd keep to a low guess on that one. They also promised to drain the Shannon.

84,605. The 5 at the end were to be odd jobs.

Ya it looked for a long time that BuileBeag, Sephiroth_dude, ShaneU & wrestlemaniac were going to have an epic showdown tomorrow

Just on that if we do have a tie then the tie needs to be resolved first before the following days result is given, just in the off chance that a person finishes bottom again if that makes sense

    So Day 3

If a person can bench press a maximum of 100kg in one rep.

So do one rep and they are done, not able to lift a second rep at 100kg.

What is the maximum weight the same person can do 7 reps of?

Answers to two decimal places please

OK I feel like I'm not using the words that are in my brain to adequately express my question

    The answer is not 1/7th

A person goes into a gym in a rush, only has time to do ONE benchpress. They put on 100kg because that is the max they can lift. They wouldn't be able to lift 101kg and they wouldn't be able to do a second lift at 100kg.

The next week the same person goes back to the gym, they have more time, they want to do seven lifts this time, what is the max weight they could lift seven times but wouldn't be able to do the 8th time

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,627 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

    Yeah, that hasn't helped.....
