For a garden fish pond you need a surface area of at least 3.75 m2 to allow the fish to move around but you also need a certain depth, so it doesn't over heat and the fish can move freely enough, whats the minimum recommended depth? In mm please

Surely that's very dependant on what sort of fish you want to keep...

    That’s why it’s a minimum

That’s also why Baile is making jokes at your expense!

This is unfair because fancy people with ponds in their gardens can just go out and measure how deep they are. All I have is waterlogged flower pots and puddles at the bins.

I fell in my neighbour’s fish pond once. Not sure that gives me an advantage.

Well people say that you can drown in two inches of water, and clearly you didn't drown, so obviously the answer has to be less than two inches.

I doubt that pond area was designed to hold trout :D

So you just need to convert that to millimeters now. Easy. Right?

Just as well I'm not taller then, as the depth of the pool was based on the water being knee high on me :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,005 ✭✭✭✭Toto Wolfcastle

Meh the pond I fell into was deeper than that so at least the fish had more room to avoid me. Every cloud.
