Echo dot Spotify

Hi there Just trying to play Spotify on the echo dot. I've set it to default to Spotify, but it still plays random songs rather than specific song that I ask for. Do I need a Spotify premium account for this, and if so, with the free one are you limited to playlist of your artists or what way does it work. Thanks 👍

Yes. You do.
If you can organise a plan for the whole family, it works out really good value.
