Is it possible to hold two current accounts with AIB - I currently have one and wish to open a second but don't want a bank card to go with it wish to use it more as a saving account.

    thanks for any advise

As long as you have money and are willing to pay fees you can open multiple bank accounts ...with the same bank or different banks.

Most banks have dedicated saving accounts, although the interest rates are fairly shoite to be honest.

Check the new monthly fees that you might have to pay monthly and costing you more.

Would getting something like Revolut for your actual current account and just keeping your AIB account for savings work for you? Just transfer out to Revolut on payday your useable cash for that period and not touch AIB again till next payday.

Just open a separate savings or deposit account with AIB, you can do it via the App and takes all of 30 seconds.

    This is the answer.

If you are looking for an account for savings/deposit, then you open a savings or deposit account. It's all free, and can be done easily online or via app.
