Bearings (Headset and BB)

I've seen a few posts on various threads here in the past re bearing quality / brands. I've seen SKF mentioned but can't remember any others.

Would someone be able to please tell me the best quality bearings to get for headset and BB, without having to break the bank. So I'm not talking Chris King here. Just bearings reasonably priced and good quality.

Also where do you buy your bearings? Last time I replaced headset lower I just bought an FSA bearing on Chain Reaction. Not convinced the quality is great though tbh.

I only use FSA headset bearings, because they last for years. If they’re cleaned and greased properly.

Interesting. Since I put in the FSA lower bearing a few months back I've been getting micro creaks in the headset.

I've no idea. All I know is that that site is great for buying them. I bought Spank MTB pedals, and eventually thought the bearings needed replacement, and Spank directed me towards that site, telling me that that's what they use. This is what they directed me towards:

FSA are rubbish IMO.

SKF, FAG, Enduro, buy quality bearings from companies that actually make the bearings and not just rebrand and price inflate cheap ones.

If your in Dublin, Dickson bearings in Finglas are great. Cheaper too.

I replaced my Ultra Torque bearings with Enduro VV bearings ceramic bearings.
Really buttery smooth and no issues so far.

Which if these do I need for my BB30?

First has a non contact seal and second a contact seal. Don't know what that means tbh

These are actually Enduro bearings and a hell of a lot cheaper than the other options above. Enduro supposed to be good also?

Looks like Hambini sells the 2RS from his website so would probably go with those - they're the contact seal on your links.

Contact / non-contact seal is as it says, the rubber seal covering the bearings will either be in contact (or not) with the bearings. The former has more friction but better longevity, non-contact the opposite.
