From the new year it will be much more straight forward when ordering PC parts from Businesses in the UK that are registered for VAT in Ireland.

So far I know of two

    amazon.co.uk
    overclockers.co.uk

Does anyone have other companies to add to the list?

As of a few days ago, scan.co.uk was still accepting Irish orders so I'm hoping that they are ok.

Box.co.uk and ebuyer.com are both no longer accepting Irish addresses.

Scan might take your order but they charge UK vat, not Irish vat so they are a no go while that remains the case.

They do state they are willing to fill out a UK VAT exemption form for the channel Islands so perhaps they will now do the same for EU citizens.

Does anyone know if cclonline.com is VAT registered in Ireland?

With the impending deal, I'm not sure that this is an issue any longer.

How can you be sure with the costant warning about ensuring you don't pay VAT in the UK from Jan 1st?
You have to remember that the UK will no longer be in the single market but they do have a free trade deal with the single market.
VAT must be paid in an EU country even with the deal, the deal just means no tariffs.

Companies like scan will automatically charge you UK VAT as they are not registered for VAT in Ireland. You should never pay UK VAT as VAT will still be owned in the EU.

You can't do a regular checkout, you have to contact them so they can invoice you without UK VAT. You can then pay Irish VAT when it enters the country.

There was never going to be customs charges on computer parts even with no deal as the EU does no have tariffs on computer parts.

For companies who are registered for VAT in Ireland like Amazon and OCUK you can ignore the above as you pay Irish VAT only at checkout.

I don't have an account with them but it's easy to check any site if you have an account. Add an item to a basket and check its price. Then log in and go through the process to add your shipping address as Ireland. If they are applying Irish VAT the price in the basket will change to reflect this.

Important to remember that even if any retailer sells you something VAT free you will still have to pay the fee charged by the courier for applying Irish VAT when it lands here. it all adds expense. If it gets caught by the system that is! There is a small chance stuff will get through VAT free from time to time.

Easier to just buy from one who applies Irish VAT at the checkout.

Exactly and this is why I started this thread.

I want a list of all the UK PC parts sellers that are registered for VAT in Ireland.
I only know of two so far so feel free to add to the list.

It may well be a small list, as small as two! There aren't that many sellers and the two you've listed are the only two I've known of that applied our vat rate. Maybe more will join them if they typically had a big order book from here. If OCuk thought it was worthwhile Scan may well join them.

While the UK was apart of the single market any UK business selling €75,000 or more in a year was required to register for VAT in Ireland.

At some point OCUK probably hit that point but Scan never did.

So you're saying Scan doesn't sell 75 PCs to Ireland in a whole year? That seems nuts. They must be selling more than that to boardsies alone.

When the UK was in the EU, UK business were required to register for VAT in Ireland if sales levels reach €75,000 per year. (are there exceptions I'm not aware of?)

Perhaps they didn't declare it and never registered?
It's not a good sign on how important they perceive the Irish market to be.

I tried CCL. Still charging UK vat and have no delivery options available to Ireland. You have to contact sales directly so its possible they'll do a vat free sale.

What about PC Specialist? I don't think they sell parts only - just assembled PCs, but from their checkout on the .ie website seems they apply an Irish VAT.

Has anyone contacted Scan to see if they have plans on getting VAT registered here?

    Hi there,

We are just finalising our Brexit statement and procedures.
Please keep an eye on the website for further updates.

    Kind regards,

I don't think a sensible company like Nvidia would force us to shop outside our economic zone.

Low key enough that they never caught the eye of Revenue I would guess. If they had you probably would have seen deliveries to Ireland suddenly stop.
