The debacle over botched PPE from China - he ordered it. That cost taxpayers tens of millions of euro, don't see similar issues happening in other countries on the same scale.

The utter waste of millions of taxpayer cash on dodgy hand santizer - buck stops with him. Didn't happen in other countries.

Vaccination is a complete embarrassment - this country will be the last in Europe to get it done. Most likely because HSE staff want to stuff themselves with some extra turkey over the hols. He's the man in charge and he agreed to this timetable.

I could go on i'm sure there's many more. How is this man who didn't graduate secondary school in charge of a €20bn health budget? Telling us "its a pandemic" is not good enough, these mistakes are not happening in other countries. He's a spoofer and a chancer and totally out of his depth.

    I'd level the whole HSE.

It didn't happen on the same scale in other countries, because it happened on massively higher scales.

£156m on one of many useless PPE contracts in the UK

    US distributing expired PPE

    ...and rinse and repeat elsewhere

Didn’t graduate secondary school? If that’s what’s important to you, you’ll be delighted to know -

He attended Trinity College Dublin and the National College of Ireland, and holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations.

Hasn’t exactly sat on his laurels either, and has held a number of high profile positions in various businesses, charities and politics. He’s definitely not short of experience for his current role and seems well within his depth -

    Paul Reid (HSE)

That said, I don’t envy his current position one bit.

The previous head of the HSE did an interview on Newstalk shortly after he left the HSE last year and if you didn’t know who he was you’d be saying upon hearing the interview “They should get this fella in to fix the HSE”

Successive heads of the HSE and Ministers for Health have demonstrated that this is a systemic issue and one person won’t fix it in its current guise.

For all the people who wanted Harris fired when he was Minister you’d ask, who was the last Minister for Health whose tenure you could call a success?

Sorry now, bit there is no place for cop on or common sense in a hyperbolic outrage thread.

Well I guess I should not be surprised at who started this thread

There is a limit on how much leeway we can allow posters and this is one outrage too many
