    Hi all,
Sorry if there’s a particular thread on this I can’t find it, so mods feel free to merge/move.
We just bought our 8 year old daughter a tablet and we have set it up with the family link app which allows us to limit the time allowed on it and limit the content she can watch, she also has to ask for permission via the app, to download apps or access a website on any search engines.
What educational fun apps do people recommend that I can let her play away with on her own (with parental supervision close by).
She really likes drawing and reading, but i would also like to get her introduced to puzzle games and science.
    Any help greatly appreciated!

Our two girls (one just turned 8 and the other is almost 10) had Amazon tablets for the last 2 years, until March this year. When lock down started and remote schooling began - I could not take it anymore with them trying to do zoom/google class/ seesaw and etc so we bit the bullet and got 2 iPads for them. We bought 2 non apple pens for them as well which I strongly recommend. I love apple family set up as you have total control approving their apps and as a family member you can share apps and etc. So for our girls they mostly watch YouTube, play minecraft and we let them browse the apps by themselves and we can approve or not approve afterwards. They usually get all free apps and they are silly, like mixing slime and the like. Not much educational stuff I am afraid. The one app I feel it was well worth paying for was Procreate, it’s about drawing/art and as a family member I got it on my iPad as well. So although we paid $9.99 for it, we got it on 3 devices for 1 price. Pen comes super handy with it. Let your child browse App Store and decide

You could have a look at this, currently on sale too (1 year family for £20) - You can download the app, and monitor everything, No need for an amazon device.
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/ftu/home
IXL have an Irish site too for educational apps - https://ie.ixl.com/

There are loads of learn coding apps LOADS. For example

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lightbot.lightbothoc (also very good)
    https://play.google.com/store/search?q=kids%20coding&c=apps
