  • I traveled to Cork via train in November during lockdown and I never saw a Garda.

I’ve had to travel on buses and trains many a time for one reason or another and never even had someone ask me where I’m going (save for the bus ofc) or indeed why.

Tbf that's the same source the people against the killing are using as proof he was an innocent person who did no wrong

I drove from Kerry to Dublin via Cork city 5 times all during level 5 in April and October lockdowns, met checkpoints every single time, no problem since I had a genuine reason for travel.

This is it in a nutshell..

Constantly highlighting racism, poking it and trying to find it everywhere is doing more harm than good. Anti racism is now more dangerous than racism..

Exactly. You could easily argue that most ethnonationalism, or at least the recent growth of ethnonationalism, could be blamed near solely on "anti racism". Especially when "anti racism" nearly always surrounds blaming natives for all the problems of the new arrivals. As we all know, people are tribalistic, so if you attack their tribe they unsurprisingly become more tribalistic.

“The man who lies to himself can be more easily offended than anyone else. You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

It was in the Independent on the day of the incident.

    https://m.independent.ie/irish-news/major-tension-in-community-as-family-calls-for-answers-after-man-with-knife-shot-by-gardai-39916358.html
The 27-year-old was known to local gardaí due to issues caused by his mental health difficulties and was arrested at his home last January under the Mental Health Act after he was allegedly violent to a number of gardaí who had responded to an emergency call.

    Article also detailed the following
Uniformed, unarmed gardaí responded to the scene and observed a male in possession of a knife. The male continued to threaten members of the public and unarmed gardaí with the knife,” said a statement from the Garda press office...

senior sources said the decision by an officer from the Armed Support Unit (ASU) to fire shots was because the highly trained garda believed there was an “imminent threat to life”.“He had been pepper sprayed and tasered but when this did not work, the use of lethal force became necessary. There were concerns that he could kill someone,” a senior source said...

It is understood the situation became critical when Mr Nkencho allegedly “lunged” at one of the ASU officers with a large knife.

Anyone else feel like we're starting to become second class citizens in our own country?

How on earth was there people locked into Spar for their safety, having racist abuse hurled at them, and it's not all over the big media?

This is insane. Was Ireland lost in a bet or something? Why does such an overwhelming minority have such sway over the media?

Because it is socially acceptable to be racist against white people - which is literally racist, isn't it?

Because mainstream media in Ireland has sold us out. Integrity and pride are concepts from the past.
And for the likes of RTE and The Irish Times, the non-progressive indigenous population is dispensable.
The regular person in Ireland has to seek impartial, unbiased, and balanced reporting of these types of events from outside the country. Without the likes of the The Times, we would be fed with just the one narrative all the time.

There are a lot of anti-racism people (journalists, activists, commentators etc) on Twitter banging on about racism. That's great, glad there are people who will fight against it as its unacceptable.

However, I see people on Twitter asking these anti-racism commentators what they thought of the videos of black people in Blanchardstown calling people "white bastards" and "I hope you die".

....Crickets. Absolutely no comment about it. Its almost like it doesn't matter. Its almost like these people are ONLY interested in racism that suits their agenda.

You are either anti-racism or you are not. You shouldn't be able to pick and choose. In doing so, they are undermining their legitimacy and it really just appears that they are using death of this guy as fuel for their bandwagon.

In my opinion, that's fcuking disgraceful. The guy himself, doesn't matter...just the colour of his skin.

Agree with the poster that said these Anti-Racism campaigns are fuelling more racism. We're constantly being labelled as racists (when we're not) and blamed for a lot of the immigrants problems.

Black people cant be racist as they're marginalised, and its racist to suggest that they can be racist. You need to be educated by BLM about this.

The reality is the anti racist lot a by and large incredibly racist to white folk. The same people screaming hate filled bile and white bas****s at the people in Eurospar don't even begin to see how racist that is. Racism to caucasian people to them doesn't exist.

Could you imagine black folk trapped in a shop shutters pulled down and white folk banging on the shutters shouting in at them. Be round the clock news and front page news.

Happens to white folk. Total blank on it. As said to these folk no amount of abuse to white folk can ever be called racist.

Anti racist groups will NEVER highlight any anti white/caucasian racism. Isn't that in itself proof of racism?

They are racist to Asian people as well. I remember seeing a video from the States of one of the BLM George Flyod protests from during the summer where a group of them verbally abused and told some random Asian guy to get the **** out of the area because they mistook him for conservative commentator Andy Ngo. They then got into an argument with him rather than admitting their mistake.

It was literally just some random guy but walking past and these people defaulted to the cartoonishly racist ideal of "they all look the same" and wouldn't back down when they were called on it.

the whole situation is being manipulated by people who are stupid, silly, angry at the system, and the system is "us".
Because "us" are normal, regular people, some are working and some are not but "us" have, for the most part, respect for law and order.

The old "I have black friends, therefore I can't a be racist" trope. She is overcompensating to deflect criticism and place her "friend" in front of her so she can get off the hook.

Most of these leftie socialist type headcases are too far gone. Likes of Lynn Ruane on the gravy train and they can never be arsed being factual or logical on anything.

The vast majority of these folk don't even acknolwedge avenues were exhausted by Gardai and he was shot swinging a lethal weapon at them. Facts don't suit thier narrative so they simply ignore them.

Maybe the light at end of tunnel of this is people wake up to the patholigical liars the likes of Brid Smith, Lynn Ruane, Boyd Barrett Hazel Chu and Profit before people are?

I voted to abolish the Seanad.

Unfortunately others utilised the vote to whack Enda Kenny instead.

    Short sighted.

In fairness having bad spelling isn’t the sin that some make it out to be.

But ignoring the little red lines under words that are misspelt and ignoring the predictive text suggestions is
