Sounds like the Guards tried to subdue him with a taser and pepper spray. He threatened members of the public and members of the Gardai. Job well done by the Gardai by all accounts.

The usual left wing rabble rousers are out and wouldn't be happy unless there were the dead bodies of at least 10 Gardai around him before he was shot. The silent majority are firmly behind the Gardai in this case.

The usual outraged brigade wouldn't last a day as a garda. Would probably cite anxiety or some such.

    Read the comments.

"So sad to hear about the poor man"

He was "just walking into his house" apparently

Jedward are our national conscience. Fair play to them taking time off from saving us from covid to stand up for Brother George.

Respect, as Ali G might say...

Would love to know what these loons would describe as justice. The EuroSpar manager will be forgotten in all of this I suspect as he lays in hospital for having the temerity to work for a living.

He is a zero to the modern left activists and woke class.

It's daddy get your lawyer to represent poor George and take on the brutish Guards.

My god its sickening. A whole generation is completely drenched in identity politics. The re racialisation of public discourse is complete. The people who have done this, knowingly and wantonly, have done unbelievable damage.

True, I imagine they'll kick up some form of fuss due to the Garda being involved and then being anti anything government related.

Seemingly Twitter is already rife with it, BLM protests outside blanch Garda station as well.

I see nothing wrong with what happened personally, they didn't just rock up and shoot him. They tried other methods first and shot him as a last resort.

That should be immediately stamped out.

With so many cops on the scene I'm assuming the entire incident was filmed.

They should release that footage because the online virtue signaller crew build up steam

He took a chance and tried to knife numerous guards

    The bet didn’t pay off

    No sympathy

I DO have sympathy for the victims of this thief and of course the guards for bringing down this dangerously violent individual

So long as the GAA and Leinster rugby don't bend the knee we'll be grand.

Say this on twitter and see how long it takes you to be called Hitler/nazi/racist.

A whole generation raised on identity politics due to the leftists grip on mainstream media.

    We're fûcked.

    Like cancer those two boys.

Clueless idiots more like. They probably jumped on the trend that was appearing on their twitter feed.

Twitter is ****ing poison and completely at fault for dividing people. Recent US election is a case in point.

Well done to the garda who fulfilled his duties today.

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

My younger sister just tried to compare this to George Floyd and how a guard would not shoot him if he was white, god help this country....

Curious to know the profession of this chap, besides being an armed robber?
Or was he on welfare supported by the workers of this country?

Here's a really good video for those who think the police should act in a more controlled manner.

  • Why would you do that, when you're educateing people (myself included) on why guards shoot mass, with certain tactics and reasons.

Are you a guards or firearm specialist?

My patience evaporates really quick this time of day for a brief period.

And no, I’m not, but I’ve studied it a bit, cos I also had these questions and sought the answers!

He was a doctor on his way home after doing open heart surgery in Connolly hospital . It wasn't a knife he was carrying, it was a scalpel he forgot to leave in the hospital. They only shot him because he was black

I believe 7 shots discharged with only 5 hitting the target. That is what is shocking me. 71 percent hit rate. No good enough.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,665 ✭✭✭Bonniedog

Any politician who turns up at that protest in Blanchardstown would be my first target for the "hate legislation" they have a hard on for.

I assume it will be broken up for breach of the covid regulations?

The last two were the warning shots.

I wonder what side Gemma will support on this one?

I highly doubt they discharged two warning shots AFTER shooting someone dead.

I think he's being ironic, sarcastic, comedic.
    Take your pick.

I know an old Filipino gent who was a cop in Manila back the 60s-70s, he said they used to fire the warning shot after they dropped the bad guy. :D

This type of thing is only going to become more commonplace. We are lucky to have strict firearms control in Ireland or it would been a gun he had and not a knife. The Guard should get a medal on honour for what he did.
