He was a doctor on his way home after doing open heart surgery in Connolly hospital . It wasn't a knife he was carrying, it was a scalpel he forgot to leave in the hospital. They only shot him because he was black

I know an old Filipino gent who was a cop in Manila back the 60s-70s, he said they used to fire the warning shot after they dropped the bad guy.

This type of thing is only going to become more commonplace. We are lucky to have strict firearms control in Ireland or it would been a gun he had and not a knife. The Guard should get a medal on honour for what he did.
